Just picked up RE games again after about 13 years!

Hi there, hope everyone is ok!
After playing RE2 which was my favourite ever game years ago on PS2 ive got an xbox recently and have done RE4 4 times, half way through RE5 and started RE Code Veronica X too. I have RE Operation Racoon City ready to go when I'm done then I'll get onto 6.
I found RE4 superb after getting used to it and I have got round to RE5 even though im dissappointed its mainly action and no suspense and no puzzles its still really good.
Not looking forward to 6 however I hear today that RE Revelations is coming out on xbox in may so I can't wait for that as I believe its back to proper survival horror Very Happy

Has anyone got any links to get me up to speed on the overall RE story arc from 1-6?

Get a hold RE3 and the REmake of the original, also get 6 too.

Yeah sorry I played RE3 years ago as well... but is there anyway of getting REmake, RE2 and RE3 on xbox? I've tried looking and can't find them Crying or Very sad

I'm afraid the REmake is only for Nintendo GameCube and Wii,RE2 and RE3 also don't have an xbox version,but they have a PC version.

after playing all those games you probably wont enjoy Operation RC too much as its way different.

What consoles do you have? 360 only? For that you already have basically all the games you can have. You could always get RE1-3 on PC.

I'll get onto that story arc soon enough, people can add to that if I miss something important.

Okay, this is gonna contain a looooooot of spoilers so I suggest you'd at least try and get the games for yourself. Learing the story is much more fun that way. If you can't get the games, try to at least get the novels, comics or the Archives books.

Okay, so a quick recap? I'll add all the canon stuff I can think of. Prepare for a wall of text.

Main series:

RE0: STARS Bravo Team goes investigate murders happening around Raccoon City. Helicopter crashes, team starts dying one by one, rookie medic Rebecca meets escaped convict Billy. Rebecca and Billy find themselves in an Umbrella training facility, explore, find out the culprit behind the initial outbreak named James Marcus (one of Umbrella's founders) who tranforms into the Queen Leech, they beat him and Rebecca lets Billy on his merry way, promising to hide the fact that he escaped. Rebecca then travels to a nearby mansion.
RE1: STARS Alpha Team goes looking for Bravo, things go wrong and they escape into the Spencer Mansion. Among survivors are Chris, Jill, Barry and Wesker. They all get seperated early on and explore the mansion on their own. They learn that Umbrella is behind everything and is developing Bio Organic Weapons. Wesker is actually working for the bad guys and blackmails Barry to be a traitor. Wesker gets impaled by the Tyrant he releases but manages to inject himself with a serum that allows him to revive later. The rest of the team, Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca (who Chris found hiding in the mansion) escape via chopper and the mansion explodes.
RE2: Months later, rookie cop Leon shows up in Raccoon, only to find out it's overrun by zombies. He meets Claire who is looking for her brother, Chris. They get seperated but both find their way to RPD. Leon meets Ada, a spy sent to retrieve the new G-virus made by William Birkin. Claire meets Sherry, the daughter of William. The new Tyrant, Mr.X, follows everyone around and gets his ass whooped numerous times. William, who has injected himself with the G, terrorizes everyone too and mutates multiple times. Mr.X supposedly kills Ada, she and Leon share a final kiss. More exploring, Mr.X is still alive but beaten with a rocket launcher thrown by a mysterious woman. William still tries to kill people but get killed when the facility under the RPD explodes. Leon, Claire and Sherry escape. While this all was happening, Umbrella Security Sercive agent HUNK manages to retrieve a sample of the G and escapes.
RE3: Jill is still trapped in Raccoon. She meets their old pilot, Brad, who gets killed by a relentless stalker named Nemesis. Jill narrowly escapes and meets the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service mercenary Carlos, who is as clueless to Umbrella's true intentions as his whole team, except for one. This one is a giant dick called Nicholai who basically gets all his teams killed for fun and games. Nemesis runs around trying to kill Jill and Carlos and eventually infects Jill with the T-virus. Carlos finds a cure and they destroy Nemesis once and for all. Nicholai is still being a dick and takes the last chopper out of town while a nuclear missile sent by the government is heading their way. Barry comes to save the day, Jill and Carlos escape in his helicopter. City gets nuked from the orbit. Epilogues reveal that Leon was hired by the gov., Barry retired to live with his family in Canada and Sherry was taken in by the gov. because she had the G-virus in her.
CVX: Claire is still looking for her brother, invades Umbrella's Paris lab, gets caught and is sent to the Rockfort Island ruled by a crazy cross-dresser. The island is taken over by zombies, she gets released from her cell and meets another prisoner named Steve. She also meets with Alfred Ashford, the grandson of another Umbrella founder and also the insane ruler of the place, who immediately tries to kill her. Steve's dad is a mutant now and so is Alfred's (both are killed). Claire meets the still living Wesker who is on the island to collect the T-Veronica virus from Alfred's sister Alexia, who is also a mutant (but a sentient one). Claire and Steve escape by plane but crash into the South Pole where there is another Umbrella base. Claire had messaged Leon who had messaged Chris who then came to the aid of Claire. Alexia catches Steve and makes him the vessel for T-Veronica. Steve mutates but Claire gets him to revert the mutation, Steve professes his love and dies. Claire is caught by Wesker and saved by Chris. Alexia mutates even further but is beaten. Chris and Claire fly to safety, Wesker takes Steve's body for the virus.
RE4: Leon is on a mission to save the president's daughter, Ashley, from an evil cult who has kidnapped her. He finds himself on an undisclosed island in Spain and meets with enemies far more advanced than any zombie, Ganados. These are people brainwashed by the cult leader using Las Plagas parasites. Leon finds Ashely, who gets captured again. Repeat this a few times. Leon meets Luis, a researcher who wants to help him. Turns out Luis used to work for the cult in order to retrieve the master plaga used to control plaga infectees. Before he manages to give the vial to Leon he is killed by the cult leader, Saddler. Leon also meets with Ada who apparently is still alive and working with Wesker and Leon's old army buddy Krauser. Krauser is killed, Saddler is killed, Ada double crosses Wesker and takes the sample for a higher bidder. She gives Leon a key to a jet ski, Leon and Ashley escape before the island blows up.
RER: Chris is missing, Jill goes investigate. They both work for BSAA now. I rather not spoil the game if you are going to get it. Trust me, it's better this way.
LiN: Chris and Jill, both working for BSAA now, investigate an old mansion where the last living founder of Umbrella, Lord Ozwell E. Spencer, is hiding. They eventually find the guy but it's too late as he is killed by Wesker. Fight ensues, Jill sacrifices herself by throwing both herself and Wesker out of a window. Jill is presumed dead.
RE5: Chris is in Africa in order to stop a black market deal deviced by Ricardo Irving and to try and find his supposedly dead partner Jill. Chris and Sheva traverse the Kijuju autonomous zone with a lot of expendable BSAA members, except for Josh who manages to survive everything. They kill Irving, find a brainwashed Jill with Wesker, beat her to her senses and start after Wesker. Jill escapes the place with Josh, Chris and Sheva finally beat Wesker, thus ending the decade old rivalry between him and Chris.
RE6: Way too much happens. Play the game.

Canon spinoffs and movies:

Survivor: Leon's old pal Ark, a private investigator, goes investigating an Umbrella facility located on Sheena Island. Ark has a helicopter accident followed by amnesia, thus leading him to believe he is the antagonist Vincent Goldman (who is already dead at this point). Ark fights his way through the island finally remembering who he is and saving two kids, Lily and Lott Klein. They all escape after being hunted by Umbrella's Cleaners and a new Tyrant.
Survivor 2: Claire's dream after the events of CVX. That's pretty much all there is to this.
Dead Aim: Bruce, a government agent, finds himself on an Umbrella cruis ship fighting the rogue scientist, Morpheus D. Duvall, who has an experimental T/G-virus. Bruce meets Fong Ling, a Chinese agent on the same mission. Ship crashes in yet another Umbrella base, stuff happens, Bruce and Ling escape after destroying the T/G-mutated Morpheus.
Operation Javier: Flashback to Leon and Krauser's army days. Wesker has sold a sample of the T-Veronica to a drug lord called Javier Hidalgo located in Latin America. Javier has tried to treat his daughter's illness with the virus. Zombies and monsters all around. Leon and Jack save Manuela, Javier's daughter, from her insane father. Javier mutates himself, Manuela bonds with the Veronica and becomes an unstoppably force of fire, killing her own father. Leon, Jack and Manuela escape. Manuela is taken in by the government.
Operation TALOS: Chris and Jill, before the events of RER, follow Umbrella's trail to their Russian base. Sergei Vladimir, the base used for tyrants such as Mr X is also in the location. The facility houses the ultimate tyrant, TALOS, which gets killed by Chris and Jill. Meanwhile, Sergei is killed by Wesker who was in the base to retrieve one of Umbrella's super computer cores.
Degeneration: Leon and Claire meet again, during an outbreak in Harvardville Airport. Claire is now with TerraSave, a human rights organization, after deciding to go on a more pacifistic path than Leon and her brother. Situation is solved and bad guys apprehended. Tricell, the main evil in RE5, is seen scraping themselves some G-virus samples from the debris.
Viral Campaign: Chris is having some PTSD moments after the events of RE5, while also getting a medal for his achievements, going on a date and training with his sister.
Damnation: Leon is on a mission in Eastern Slav Republic where people are fighting with BOWs. Lickers have been enhanced with the plaga to be controlled for a limited time before the master plaga host succumbs to the parasite. Leon finds a new friend, Buddy, and they fight themselves some tyrants while resolving the political problems of the country. Oh yeah, Ada was there too, doing her thing.
