This has some some spoilers if you haven't seen the first live-action movie.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but ever since I first saw Paul W. S. Anderon's first Resident Evil movie (if you can even consider those Resident Evil movies ), I've always wondered whatever happened to the guy who got part of his hand cut off by the lasers in the hallway to the Red Queen. Like when the first laser came by, you saw the one girl get killed and one guy got part of his hand sliced off, but he was still alive and the commander guy was trying to help him. However in the next scene where the ground laser approaches the Umbrella team, he isn't in the seen at all (as far as I could tell)?
Presumably he died when the laser was on the ground, but we never did see what happened to him. If that's what happened, then why didn't the commander or any of the others help him up when they clearly saw the ground laser was coming towards them? So what do you think happened to him? And if he died, why wasn't his death scene shown like all the others?

I've read that it was a homage to the games where enemies bodies would disappear after you left the room. No logical answer was given.

I read somewhere that he died of shock before the lasers came back.
What I always wondered was why One just gave up? He could've at least gone near the door, the thing literally opened just when he got cut to pieces.

This movies are generally bad and yet they keep dishing sequel after sequel after sequel something unheard off about any other VG based movie. For example Silent Hill was an extremely faithful live action adaptation of the VG it was based on and only one movie was produced.

I cant find a link but I was reading on IGN a while ago that SH Revelation has finished and is now in limbo and they havent a clue when it will be released. Not a good sign.

No, it's possible. Not common, but possible. Besides, movies tend to elapse time for the benefit of the scene and/or story (e.g., note how countdowns, for bombs or whatever, never seem to sync quite correctly with a stopwatch in your hand). There could also have been a deleted or unfilmed scene that took place in between.
