Resident Evil ORC First Impressions

I registered here on this site just to say that I also somehow got my copy today and I'm also wondering how the heck this happened. I live in NY state, I pre-ordered the special edition with the sign from Capcom on maybe the 12th. This is awesome! lol

Typically when you pre-order something they ship it 4-5 days before it comes out, and most times you get it fairly early depending on what it is and where it's coming from. So overall, it is a awesome thing. lol

I wish it was like that here. You're lucky if you even get your pre-order on the same week as the thing comes out.

That's one of the reasons why I don't like Europe that much, one of the biggest reasons being in most European countrys their censorship policys are so strict, like in Germany for example.

Good thing Finland never get's anything censored. That would just plain suck.

@Sargent D I agree, Europe is pretty awesome for some things, but when it comes to movies and video games, it just sucks, no offence to Europeans LOL. Also yeah, thanks for clearing up the whole shipping thing for me. This is actually the first video game I have pre-ordered online and I didn't know that suppliers usually shipped it earlier than the release date. I was actually worried I wouldn't even receive it on the release date! Like they would ship it the night before or something and I would have to wait an extra day! I think I will be pre-ordering online from now on haha.

It depends on where you pre-order online from. Some places like Wal-Mart won't ship until the release date while others like GameStop will ship a few days before the release so it arrives close to or on the release date. I think this was Capcom's own way of giving people a little bonus that ordered from them.

WOW! So that was the shortest campaign I've ever played... well that's a huge let down

@ChickenHeart Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. I would never order online from Wal-Mart, especially not a pre-order.

Ok, I have to say this, even though the COD action the story is great, and that does for me....and BTW: WTF is Nicholai problem???

Nicholai has been a complete douche since RE3 He's just totally mental.

Are you guys going to get the Spec-Ops mission pack?

I like how even the characters of the Delta team ask themselves what is wrong with Nicholai....the guy's nuts. Hopefully this game will give us a canon explanation about Nicholai's fate

I thought it was already pretty clear what is canon? I mean, at least the Archives book says that he took the last chopper and escaped.

Yeah, but some others sources (like the Catalysis dvd) indicate that he died.... the gametrailers retrospective said the same. IDK, if he's alive he's got to make a comeback..... in Damnation for example...you know...european and all

Btw. This was the first time I heard of Catalysis, it seems pretty interesting.

It is, I downloaded the full dvd, since it came out only in Japan it would be really hard to get an original copy

Why do all the good things come out only in Japan? They even got something called "Raccoon City Secret Report" with the special edition of ORC.

Really? I thought that since ORC was developed by an American studio Japan wouldn't get anything extra

Europe got nothing, yet again. Well, we got the weapon packs but that's not worth the extra price.

Just checked how much the special edition on Ps3 is here.....u$s 150....the import taxes here are TOO DAMN HIGH

The enemy AI is actually pretty good. I'm playing on normal and honestly they're always coming at you for the most part. They don't do that stupid "run up and stop" crap you see in RE4/RE5. Your teammates AI however.....not so good. They never take cover, love to run into the middle of huge zombie attacks and will walk straight into mines. Babysittting one teammate in a game is hard enough but having three idiots running around means spending half your time "holding x to revive your teammate".

Grenades are REALLY useful

I should have specified more...but don't want to spoil the game. There is a specific section in which they are quite useful...
