| Pretty simple question here...
Just bought RE3 on the PS network and can finally complete the last of the main series I haven't played.
Started the game and picked easy mode as I do on any game I've never played before. Got to the first storage box and there was a magnum, shotgun and plenty of ammo for both as well as 2 whole clips for the sub machine gun.
I'm thinking the answer is no but still curious. Did easy mode always start with all this artillery in the storage box or have they done this just to help the ppl more accustomed to RE4 and 5 have the ammo they need to easily complete a RE game before they start a more difficult challenge?
On another note...how fucking good is this game? haven't spent a weekend at home alone for a long time but I don't think I want to do much more than stay at home and continue playing this sick game right now! |

| RE3 is quite the game if I remember correctly. I haven't played it in eons. I do remember that in RE2 on easy (I think) you start with like an infinite machine gun or some crazy bullshit like that. So I would bet that in RE3 easy mode that weapon cache was there from the get go. |

| Thanks for the reply Nite. I can see RE3 quickly moving ahead of RE2 as my second favourite after the original / ReMake (I package them as one game because it was essentially the same story)
The dodge attacks during shooting are so nice for an old school format RE. I had a cerebus jump at me as I shot at him and it automatically dodge him.
I'm mainly asking this question for strategy reasons. If I have all this nice ammo already is there even any need to conserve or should I just be shooting the shit out of enemies before they attack me and conserving health for those inevitable battles with nemesis? |

I can't really answer that as it has been so long since I played it. I bet Spike will be able to answer better than me when he gets on. I do know there are two types of people in the world. Those who avoid Nemesis, and those who compulsively destroy him. I would guess that ultimately determines your play style. |

| I'm definitely option B. I don't like to run away from enemies. I like to face them head on and show them who is the boss |

| Yes, the game originally had all that stuff on easy mode. I know because I just recently started on my original PS disc version.
I felt it was cheating so I immediately changed to Hard. Even trying to kill Nemesis on that is a no no. The only times I have died in the game has been when I've tried to kill the thing. Used up all my magnum and grenade rounds. Then it killed me. |

| On easy mode you really don't have to conserve ammo. There's plenty around. Strong weapons like the grenade launcher are easy to obtain as well as ammo. If you're new to the older style games or just haven't played RE3 in a long time it's a good starting point. |

You get weapon parts from winning. For me it's totally worth it. |

i am gona grab a magnum and grenade luncher and go nemesis hunting next time! Just like with Mr. X in RE2 you get different rewards from killing Nemesis. On Easy you won't get the best goodies you'd be able to get on Hard, though. I warn you, he won't go down easily. - NiteKrawler wrote:

| I haven't got nothing from "killing" him yet. Maybe it is the PSN version or just me being soft and playing on easy mode first I inspected him like a necro and got nothing |

| I'm playing the original PS disc version. I'm also playing on Hard. The PSN version is a direct port so nothing has been changed.
Have you made sure he's really dead? Because sometimes he jumps up after being down for a second or two.
EDIT: No, wait, just checked online. You get nothing from him on easy mode. Somehow I just remembered he drops lesser rewards on that... Sorry for the confusion, maybe I was just thinking of Mr. X there. |

And yes, Easy mode in RE3 always had that fuckin' artillery of weapons. With tons of ammo...kinda makes you wonder why anybody can talk crap about RE4 and keep a straight face considering something like that... |

| No problems. I'm sure I'll want to challenge myself on hard once I beat it on easy and know my way around |

I beat it twice on Easy before jumping to Hard. BTW, if you complete the game on Hard, you get an Epilogue. Which are awesome. There are 8 of them, good luck... |

The first time I played it all the way through on easy was when I bought it on PSN. Mainly I did it so I could run through it quickly to unlock The Mercanaries. |

RE3 on Easy had no Survival. How bout that?! I remember being really dissapointed when I first played it. I think it was the one RE that I was most excited to play when I did, and on Easy I just didn't enjoy it. IDK what it was. It wasn't until I played it on Hard that I did enjoy it for some reason. But yeah, I still can't help but point out the amount of ammunition and weapons from the very start...and how that one can still be held up as one of the "originals" while hating RE4 for something not even half as bad... |

| Woah lets not start talking crazy now. The easy mode in RE3 was meant for new players and those new to "survival horror". I also always thought it was Capcom making fun of players who would complain RE/RE2 were "too hard". Basically them saying "Oh, here take all the weapons you want! You're still never going to solve the water purification puzzle anyway" I mean it's not like there was a random selling you things and enemies dropping ammunition after you killed them. |

| It's kind of perfect for me at this stage of life. While I enjoy a challenge in video games I don't play them as much as I did 5 or 10 years ago. I get enough challenges in my work life and enjoy relaxing and having fun at the same time when I'm not working.
To be able to play an old school RE game and learn my way around before I challenge myself is a good thing for me.
I'm getting old and unfortunately I'm past the days of dying consistently to a point where I realise I need to start a game again and do better next time when I don't know what is gonna happen next.
I need to be able to strategise before I challenge myself because at this point in life I just get frustrated if I fail too many times in a row! |
