Just found out that you can play as HUNK (with or without the mask) in the outbreaks... well, I think is time to beat those games once and for all...

Can't you really unlock HUNK without a gameshark?

You can get Mew without a gameshark too.

I miss Gameshark and Action Replay. Being able to cheat and unlock stuff was so much fun.

I didn't do a massive research, but I think that that's the only way. I wanted to see all the cutscenes so I downloaded a save file that contains everything plus the file#3 npcs and found HUNK there, looking at a faq I found that you can only get the file#3 npcs with a gameshark

They need to make File#3... Maybe if ORC does well.

ORC itself is a File 3 (IMO), and if it does well they will make ORC2

Using a cheat device like GameShark and Action Replay is the ONLY way to unlock HUNK for Files 1 and 2. There are ofcourse some NPCs that are unlockable that look like HUNK by they are the other USS members who are killed during the game. There are actually a bunch of other NPCs that are playable as well like an sea captian and what looks like a coast guard member of some sorts. Looks like a possible scenario could've taken place on a boat or near a dock. As for ORC it is now way even close to a File #3 in my opinion. Different gameplay and no choice of being the good guys in story mode. Just another unrelated spin-off to me.

I can't think of ORC as File#3 either. Maybe a spiritual successor (even the developers said that) but not a File type of game in any way.

Actually you can play the Spec-Ops side of the story. There are six missions for both teams.

I'm basically looking at ORC as File#3 anyway. It's really like I imagined File#3.
It's actually really weird, cuz I know I did some daydreaming about it at one point, and it was a lot like this. I had actually thought of UBCS, not this new squad of unusual Umbrella characters....

At first it really did look like a new Outbreak but now that we know more about it and with the new gameplay and all I just can't see it as being a "File#3". Like I said, the closest it can get in my mind is being a spiritual successor. I'm still hoping for an actual File.

Anyone that says "ORC is pretty much File #3" I just have to question whether they actually ever played an Outbreak game.
VS
Come on now, it's pretty much SOCOM: US Navy SEALs in a Resident Evil wrapper. I'm not saying it won't be fun to mow down a bunch of zombies online but even calling it a "spiritual successor" is a long shot. The only similarities it shares with Outbreak is that it has multiplayer and it takes place during the Raccoon City incident. That's about it. If anything it's more closely related to The Mercanaries mini games from RE4/RE5. They share the same style of action. All they did was add a storyline and throw in some original characters.

You know, the reason why I'm calling it a spiritual successor is that the developers themselves said that.
It's a pretty vague term anyway and if the guys actually drew from that series then that's pretty cool.

To be fair, that's pretty much what Outbreak did too. That's not to say I'd still call this a File.
