I do feel that things like RER, ORC and RE6 are showing that they are getting over that though, so I'm optimistic.

And like Mass said, the newer missions, Operation TALOS and Operation Javier are both the main things canon, not so much the rail-shooter reimaginings of the stories we already know, just parts.

Speaking of canon parts from the rail shooters, would the parts when you play as Wesker in the REmake part of UC canon? You know, when he wakes up in the lab and has to escape.

I think pretty much all the new content presented by those games is canon.

Yup. Not stuff that contradicts, like Chris and Jill going through the entire experience together, but Wesker escaping, Becca & Richy running around through there, those are all canon.

Though where she and Dick are when you find them is different...I hate these little inconsistencies.

Well if you seen it you would have realised that Leon was like a different guy from the one we loved in R2 and RE4. To tell the truth there was more personality in a toothpick.

My hope is that he isnt like this in RE6 as that would be the character ruined for me, the same way DC Douglas ruined Wesker.

The voice being there will help for sure. I know Leon did sound a bit different in RE6, almost like it could be a different guy...not sure.

I think a lot of us just miss that smart-ass Leon we saw in RE4.

I guess I have to say Chris Redfield is my favorite. He's awesome in his own right, but he just has a lot more character than anyone else in the series. Leon was a close second but he lacks more depth. He's just a kick ass cool guy.

Others would include Jill, Claire, Billy, and Rebbeca. Jill lacks lots of character but makes up for it in badassery and hotness. Claire on the other hand actually has character and has earned her stripes since her first appearnce in RE2. Billy to me has the potential to be one of the higher ranked characters but he just isn't exposed as much. He was the only character to never show fear, since his time in the army already battle hardened him. That already makes him cool. And Rebbecca is the true survivor of the mansion incident. She survived for two nights. She was nowhere as skilled as the members from BRAVO or ALPHA team and she made it. She was also the youngest.

Resident Evil has many cool characters but ultimately I'd have to say Chris. He's practically the star of the franchise. Who would of thought that that nobody from the original Resident Evil would still be relevant in video games today?

I mean Chris is awesome, but I don't see how he would have more personality or whatever than those other guys. Especially since becoming a meat-head.

Chris is very Leon Degenerationish in Revelations. Im just sayin. Hope he doesnt turn out like that in re6.

He's kind of a joke character to me in RER, just sayin.

They don't really show much emotion. Yeah, Leon has shown love and loss before, but other than that there's nothing more to him but being badass and one liners. And Jill is just all over Chris. Every game she's in she's looking for Chris. She's like a broken record. Chris on the other hand shows determination, loss, anger, and love for those around him. It's all in his face and voice. Of course, I'm basing this from RE5, he was a joke in Revelations. His interactions with Jessica had to be the funniest thing in the game.

Guys lets keep stuff from revelations on the lo down please!i might be getting it soon and dont want to be spoiled!anyway, its funny because on another forum i was part of, most members began to ridiculize me and gang up on me because i was new when i began to defend chris, when everyone said he had no personality and stuff. To me, chris reminds me of Niko Bellic from GTA, he could never quite get over what happened to him and his friends in the war, the same as chris who never really recovered after losing his friends in the mansion incident.

I always saw more closure with characters like leon and jill when it came to their experiences and interactions, but chris really is a broken man, a soldier who has nothing to live for but to protect his loved ones. To many on the other boards, that made him a boring cardboard character. I disagree. Besides, I think all resident evil characters are soarly lacking in the personality department, which is fine by me, since the fear the characters were supposed to feel in the first game was your own, the players. i think it was a smart move to make one feel like we could be living the experience. When the games began to depend on cutscenes, we could begin to see that the characters began to develop personalities, more backstory, especially in RE4. Well basically thats why chris is my favorite character

I guess my username should say it all. But still, I will explain myself.

RE 5 was only chris game i have played. I like his personality who will not back down or be intimidated by the challenge. In few promos of RE 5, we find him pulled down to ground by majinis which shows how much he had to suffer to complete his missions. I also like him since he uses SIG 556 which is my favourite weapon in RE 5.I did despise other machine guns or found it suitable for women.Especially those that battlesuit jill would use.

I also like jill cuz she sacrificed herself for chris.

I loved him at the end of CVX, "Say hello to my comrades who you've killed".

@Turo, they show plenty of emotion, without being whiny little biatches too.

I remember in REmake, Jill sounded frustrated on the walkie.

"This is Jill do you copy....shit it's broken!".

But how does frustration make you connect to a character? Yeah, everyone gets frustrated every now and then but it doesn't make them a good character. You need more than that. Something a little deeper. After replaying RE4, Leon did seem to have quite a personality. He was like RE's Spider-Man in a way. But I still think Chris was better, character wise. Mainly because his story in RE5 was more meaningful and personal than Leon's in 4.

Claire Redfield obviously

Reasons: She is fiery, she likes motorbikes, her red leather/denim jackets are
the sex, she's strong, she is the sibling of the awesome Chris, she so flyyy',
her voice actor is amazing, she has survived so many effed up crap, ponies.

But, that's her partner (and friend). Making sure that he's okay is probably top priority for her. And Chris did the same especially when it came to RE5. They have a strong friendship for one another. If I had one couple that I would want Capcom to make official it would definitely be these two.

My favorite character is Jill though. She's pretty, smart, she can rock her bsaa uniform like nobody's business, her flip & cartwheel kicks are the best melee moves ever when it comes to 5, and she risks her life for just about anybody even if that means jumping out of a window. If I was ordered to fight off monsters in some country; I'd want her to be my partner.
