RE TV SERIES SCRIPT!

So ive been working on a script and for now im just doing it for fun, which i will be creating links for people to see and read if they like. Im basically trying to build a fan base and if it grabs enough attention i might consider handing it, who? I dont know yet.

So its an original based off the games, since the events in the games would be impossible to make into a tv series, unless your making a two season episode. So im working on keeping the original idea and the feel the games give us, unlike the Resident Evil movie series(Which is enjoyable to watch in its own creation kind of way.)

So far im cutting the mansion incident out, which i thought long and hard about doing.(A lot of fans said it would be too cliche' to include the mansion since everyone does this when trying to create a RE script.)So im trying to say, "I wanna know what fans want."

And i understand that fans get tired of seeing Leon, Chris, Jill, and Albert always staring in the games, which is true and i get tired of seeing them too but i do love these guys and they will be main characters in my series but they will definitely be sharing the spotlight with others.

Heres some things i'm going to share with you guys:

Setting-Will take place in Raccoon City at the beginnig, Im placeing it in Pennslyvania(Don't know if i spelt it right, sorry :p)
The time zone will start around 2002 i was thinking, my reason for this is to keep the world up to date a little and keep the characters young and fresh, plus i plan to do a pretty huge time skip(which im keeping secret about.)

Plot-In Raccoon City an infectious virus is released and slowly it turns the civilians into canniable monsters.

Main Cast
Leon S. Kennedy
Jill Valentine
Chris Redfield
Kevin Ryman(From the outbreak series if people did not know)
Albert Wesker
I'm still working on the rest but some possibilities are: Claire Redfield, Carlos, David King, and Mark Wilikins

Billy Coen/Wong
Ozwell E. Spencer
Cindy Lennox

So thats it for now im still heavily planning this so please, feel free to tell me things you guys will not like to see and love to see...Every Writer likes to hear options to reach out to its fan base.

I like the sound of it. A series would be a nice change. Personally I would like to see more background info on the characters shown on TV or film.

I have just started writing myself. Noting special just abit of fun. Might post on here myself in the future.

Still your story draft sound like a new perspective on RE events so IMO its all good.

No thanks. If you don't stick with the true RE story, then it isn't RE. And how is having the Spencer Mansion cliche? It has really only been shown in one game (two if you count REmake). The shitty movies just had a big house. Nothing about it was like the mansion. And to be honest, it kind of puts me off that you would throw out the mansion incident, my personal favorite part of the series. So yeah, count me in as no.

Yes, do not worry. I will be definitely including more background information, im thinking about including one flashback episode of how their lives were before the outbreak occured as well. Because my series is basically going to start right away with attacks on the town and thanks for the positive feedback!

Here are some ideas i wanna run by,

Chris and Jill in a relationship at the start of the series or develope that, cause i find the romantic stuff to cliche'(If you know what i mean) Or by any chance should i not make them a couple?

Should i inlcude Claire? I really want to but where do i write her in, yes she is Chris's sister but where would she fit....I was thinking though a college student in Raccoon City with Cindy Lennox as her best friend.

There will be no S.T.A.R.S, since there is no mansion, instead Umbrella will be funding the RPD which Albert will run and Jill, Chris, Barry and ect will be on it, but Ozwell will be controling the whole thing, i find it impossible that Albert ran that whole ordeal by himself throughout the game series.

I'm just asking cause im having writers block and im really working on this by myself. So if anyone would like to help out on these topics that would be great.

Not a bad idea at all, i would love to see it if you pull it off, will it start as a youtube series? thats probably the best place to start.

Don't get me wrong i understand what your saying but a lot of fans in other forums have told me that they dont like it and there really is no other way to turn that part into a tv series without altering the events into days, even though in the game it was one night.

Everyone has there own opinion and im not mad but thats the only way i could turn it into a series and dont worry im keeping the history leading up to the outbreak the same(With Ozwell going to Africa and stuff) And im going to keep a lot of other things the same, sorry its just the way things role sometimes

Claire in School/College sounds like a good idea. Maybe she could work with Cindy at that bar.

I was told to do this before but i really wouldnt know how to put a script on youtube, I know im Stupid -__- when it comes to youtube but i would love to do it for more exposure.

All i know how to do is write the script, revise, edit, final and post the link lol

Yeah i totally agree with you on that Chris and Jill thing, maybe ill seperate them after a while leading them only good friends with a couple of teases.

And yeah that Cindy and CLaire thing working at the bar is a great idea....Your good! You should work on one yourself.

Be sure to use the edit button at the top right of your posts to add stuff to your posts. That way you don't post two comments one right after the other.

What are you doing for Jill's backstory? Are you going with Capcom's backstory or "borrowing" the former cat burglar thing from SD Perry's books? If the former, Jill should be helping Wesker to train the others since she's a former Delta shooter and already has the best training in the world.

If you want to make this into an actual TV series you should also contact Capcom.

So... Albert will be controlling the RPD? Not Irons? Also, if you want to include Outbreak characters you should include them all. If not everyone in main/recurring roles, them give them at least cameos. Rebecca and the Birkin family should be added too. Just to have the Raccoon cast, you know.

Those were my ideas but still, I'd rather see a spinoff set in Raccoon with original cast or just the Outbreak cast. With cameos of classic characters, of course.

I'm just going to see where you go with this.



Btw. What is that Wong thing at the end of Billy's name?

You've defiantly got something to build on. I like the sound of the flash backs etc, would be nice to see more chemistry between characters, more weapon and tactic specialisation and more background info on the viruses and BOW's.

I dont know what im doing with Jill yet but, i am doing an original and since im making it to a series im gonna have to add a lot of my own material in it. But ill probably stick more to capcom....

and about the Billy Wong thing, i was going to make Ada and him siblings, both spys for Albert(Hes going to be blackmailing them in a way)----But im not so sure about it.

Yeah if my script actually gets enough attention i will definitley be contacted capcom ann anybody i need to lol, i do not want no law suits!

And about Albert controlling, hes just going to be in charge of the RPD not S.T.A.R.S(which im not putting in, so basically just replace them with RPD.)

And im not sure i can add everybody, its an original series so im definitley going to be mixing and adding characters that could fit the story.....Ill try to make refrences and cameos to as many characters from the regular series as i can and remember.

And your not the first to mention a spinoff: sounds like a good idea, maybe ill do one after a finish about the first two season on the regular one.

Yeah i know! im doing so much research that its taking me forever to actually start my script!

Its gota be done mate.

Even if it turns out not the best (im sure it will be fine) at least you will have fun along the way, picking up new info and RE knowledge.

Excellent idea. Will you be doing retellings of different games for following seasons? Also, I agree with your decision not to start out with the mansion incident; a show should begin in a more broad setting that allows for things to develop, not in the narrow setting of a single house, although I do think you ought to work it in somehow.

Way a head of ya! lol i will be including the mansion but it will mainly be discussed and mentioned and probably showed in like flashbacks.

And I've been researching hard on like the Milatary, Law Enforcement, Quarantines, Mayor, president and all that stuff and im getting pretty stressed out lol but im still going, its gonna take a lot of research for me.

And i also changed my ideas over hundreds of times.....I want to ask all of you guys if this sounds good.

Even though the government made deals with Umbrella for funding money and stuff like that...I wanted to do this.."The government always were suspicious of Umbrella and their doings so they sent in a spy to work for umbrella to discover there rights and wrongs."

Is that a good idea, to bring a different story to the series? IDK its a thought i had. And this spy will be the one to bring about the invesatigation done on umbrella.

That's actually what I meant when I said I'd rather see this to be a spinoff. A spinoff of the games. A new, original story. Something that could be tied with the games. Not so that the series itself had a spinoff.

The movies went in completely wrong way in trying to create a new storyline. I know you're not doing that but just saying.

So for everyone that is still coming here for updates or a link-Im sorry i dont have the link simply because im not finished due to all the research i have to do and connecting the stories with each other.

But i do have some final stuff im actually going to keep and i have to thank the people who commented on this forum, you guys gave me some good advice and i appreciate it.

A lot has changed from the games but i like where its going myself:

Someone will personally Infect every patient at the hospital(For Revenge) and at animal hospitals, shelters, and killing people off the streets to infect them and let them back out, Causing the city to be Quarantined by Milatary(Which i still have to research these procedures WAHH!)
