| Based off of the organization of the BSAA strike forces in RE5, I was thinking that it might be cool if they made a Resident Evil soldier game possibly in the vein of Call of Duty. I would not want this to be part of the main numbered series, but rather a spinoff like the Outbreak games. You could engage in combat situations with armed plagas, but also other monsters as well. These could include creatures from the earlier games that can't shoot anything at you, but also newer ones that would not use guns but had some form of organic method of shooting semi-rapid projectiles. It could be based on the BSAA doing missions across the globe of possibly other groups fighting against bio-terrorism and outbreaks. Needless to say, there would not be much survival horror; that could be reserved for the main series and/or other spinoffs. |

| But... isn't that partly what ORC is going to be? |

| Yes, but I'm talking about new stories that are canon, not alternate universe scenarios for events we've already seen. |

| The Leon event is just a part of the game, it's not like it will revolve around it. There's the canon way and noncanon way to go through the game so there will be lot's of stuff we haven't seen and some of it could be added to the canon. |

| I don't see how RE5 could appeal to FPS fans to be honest. They usually cant get over the whole "not being able to move and shoot" thing. Even though the game is designed so that isn't a problem.
The way you aim is even different. What other shooters besides RE4 and 5 use aiming lasers as a primary way to aim? |

I actually like that detail very much. It adds to the realism. |

I actually like that detail very much. It adds to the realism. I love it too actually. It feels original. But I have to wonder, I thought lasers like that need fog to be that visible. |

But I have to wonder, I thought lasers like that need fog to be that visible. Just uh... tiny bit of realism...

| They do. lol. If a laser was that visible, I think it would actually penetrate objects... |

| I must admit, I had not thought about that. I wonder why, as I usually tend to notice the tiniest of things. |

| To be honest the little cross hairs in the PC and Wii versions of these games are much more efficient. But it does make things a bit too easy. |

| No, visible lasers don't need fog to be seen. But if you're using one in too bright an environment (e.g., North Africa in the middle of the afternoon), then you will have a difficult time seeing it.
However the one tactical disadvantage of a visible laser is just that... it's visible. Whatever you're trying to shoot is going to see the beam and follow it right back to your location. |

Needless to say, there would not be much survival horror; that could be reserved for the main series and/or other spinoffs. You mean RE5? No, that was very much still the lone (well, dual this time) hero narrative that we've seen in the other games; in fact, almost all of the RE games have dealt with pairs helping each, just usually by splitting up and delegating responsibilities instead of sticking together. Except in the cutscenes and the serengeti chase scene, the only thing that your teammates in RE5 do in the game is scream and die. Barry was more helpful in RE1 than all of Alpha Team combined. I'm talking about a game where you have a number of teammates whom you need to complete the mission, you can run and gun, and there is more of a war zone feel than a few enemies popping up every now and then. |

| I don't really see that as necessary. Just make it its own game. |

| That's exactly what I'm saying; it could Resident Evil: The BSAA Files. If you're suggesting that such a game be made outside of the RE franchise, it could work, but I just think it would be awesome to have this style of gameplay shere you're pitted against classic RE monsters and in RE scenarios. |

| I'm not really against it, but I probably wouldn't look much into it. Plus I'm always of the idea that Capcom should focus more on the main series. |
