who is Ada?

Exactly, although I believe this takes place before the events of RE5, and before LIN too.

It does precede both, yes, as it's set to happen in 2005. Still, it's a possibility Alex survived that one.

However, when Ada showed Wesker the sample of the G-Virus, Wesker rethinked about leaving her to die on raccoon city, and decided to summon a chopper for Ada's extraction instead.

maybe she thought she was another expendable in RE2 until wesker saves her via chopper and in return she has to work for him and join him in his new world, but after time wesker threw her away, it might be that he knew that she was spying on him or maybe because of leon... in RE5 he doesn't trust excella, and injectes her with uroboros, because of what happened to him and ada **ada theory rocks!!

Wesker injected Excella because she was not worthy. I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with Ada.

I've been wondering what happened to her since RE4 also. The whole "Organization/Agency" thing has always been pretty vague. She's just sent to do the company's dirty work but they never play a significant role in any of the games. They're almost like an excuse to throw Ada back into an RE game. And the entire thing about the "Wesker children" went completely over my head in RE5. I figured it was just another time they jumped the shark (which they did many times in RE5).

Ada's a mercenary following orders, nothing more. Just like Hunk. Neither are clearly defined as good or bad, they're morally neutral. I doubt Ada Wong is even her real name.

In terms of the franchise itself, she's the "femme fatale", "lady in red", and "lady of war" opposite the "action girl" (Jill Valentine) and "badass but normal" (Claire Redfield).

Sort of. He wasn't manufactured like many believe. Many children were taken from families with superior genes while still babies. Each child was given the surname Wesker. Albert and Alex were two of these children. Then, at some point each of these people were given a special virus. Some were forced to take it and some took it of their own volition. William Birkin gave Albert this virus and then Albert set up his own death just after he injected himself with the virus. Albert is the only known survivor of the virus. Alex may be another survivor, but there is no proof that he took the virus. There's no proof he is even alive.

I think Rebecca is just as much a main character as Ada is. Rebecca at least has her own game.

She was definitely a supporting character in the first game but yeah I have to agree with ThomVD here, Rebbeca is just as much as a main character as Ada is if not more.

Never mind that she had to be rescued at least 50 times in said game...

That doesn't change if she is a main character or not.

Wasn't the "Wesker" name given to them after the supervisor of the project or something? I wonder what kind of man he was. THIS is something I'd like to see explored in some RE game. Maybe even a game with Alex in it.

@GL: Never mind how many times Jill has had to be rescued in every single game she's been in. She can't go 2 minutes without needing to be rescued. That doesn't change the fact that she is a main character.

@Mass: I'd like to see him too, but he was more than likely just an average top researcher.
