Resident Evil "Revival Selection" Announced

We're going to file this one under the "half rumor" category.

Here's the non rumor half of the rumor. This week's issue of Japan's Weekly Famitsu magazine has a first report on a PS3 and Xbox 360 title called "Resident Evil Revival Selection."

The rumor part of the rumor concerns just what Revival Selection is. There are some reports floating about indicating that the game contains remakes or ports of classic RE titles Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

We'll update once we've heard more!

Update 11:55 -- We've verified that Revival Selection is indeed a compilation of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code Veronica Director's Cut. The games have been "remastered in HD," but that's all that has been announced at present. Release date in Japan is TBA.

bit early for a RE4 remake is it not? I was hoping for a re2 remake. Also mercenaries 3D for the 3DS has been given a release date for june is anyone wasting there money on a 3ds to play mercenaries and revelations?

Remake of Code: Veronica would be neat. Maybe then I'd finally buy the game But doesn't it say they're just "remastered".

I really would like to play Revelations and Mercs but I don't want to waste money on a console I wouldn't use otherwise :/

RE 1.5 remake I say!

It sure as hell is too soon to start doing ANYTHING to RE4.

This is a good year for us. This is like what... the fourth RE game that is in development this year.

And on top of that we have one or two live action movies (not too keen on those) and Damnation coming up.

I also read on some IGN forums that there's supposedly a teaser coming for the future of Resident Evil.

Ah, yes... One big hole in my RE knowledge.

I've only watched my friend play the game to the point Gulp Worm appears (and maybe a little further). Haven't even read the book.

Remake of the CVX is a very good idea..

the game could use more rendering.... they don't look good in the game..

Usually it's like Resident Evil game once every few years now its like HERE HAVE 4 AND SOME MOVIES! which is great this year has some epic looking games underway and these RE's will just make it better. I hope they up The CV graphics A LOT, anyway can't wait because I don't have CV or 4

I played the original CV a little but for some reason I couldn't get too into it. I haven't watched anything because I don't want to have any spoilers. I'd rather either play the game or read the book. As the original (or even CVX) weren't for me I'd say this could be what I need to get into Code: Veronica.

I quoted that from Nite's link. That would correlate with the rumors of an upcoming teaser for the future of Resident Evil (RE6, perhaps?).

Even though it will have two RE titles I'm still not made of money :/

Btw. Isn't SF 3D just a port of SFIV?

Btw. do you have a DS? The reason I'm not willing to buy this is that I only recently bought Lite and I don't need another DS just to play these games.

LOL, I am the same way I had a phat DS back in the day when it first came out but for the past like 3 years or more ive been using mr brothers DS/DSi so it only makes sense to get the 3ds right? lol, no idea where my DS is though I think I gave it to my little cousin :3
