resi 4 , survival horror at its best

hi there , been playing resident evil 4 on the ps2 what a game , im totally hooked with it , the best in the series without a doubt

Posting this in the Walthrough section? Should've tried Discussion. If you're gonna post something in Walkthroughs I think you should at least ask for one.

It's a good action game....definatly not survival horror at it's finest though.

Not really.

People who are more into to action and pulse-pounding badass fights tend to like RE4 and 5 better than the rest.

People who are more into puzzles and slow moving horror are more into 1 and 2.

I think 3 works both ways.

Yeah I wouldn't say 4 is the best in the series although it's a great game. The best is either 3 or Dead Aim. What did you like most in RE4?

Still, I'll have to respect your pick since you have actually played all of the main series games.

Hmmm.... Not my favorite (in any way shape or form) but to each their own. I've said it before and I'm pretty sure I'll say it again and again. RE4 would have been a good game... by any other name. I'm a diehard RE original (PS1) fan here. No auto aim and bad voice acting in all its glory!!!!!!

And like Mass said, at least you have played the other "main" titles, that does show you aren't a fanboy or just jumped on the bandwagon for a quick fix.

Aargh I need that 3! Though not for the auto aim, didn't use it in 2 either.

The auto aim feature made things easier....but kinda of ruined some areas that would've made you go "OH SHI" once you turned a corner.

you really need to look into RE3 you are missing out

Resident Evil 4 is a good action game, but I'm sorry, it's definitely not 'survival horror at its best'. I've noticed some comments about the presentation of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis and I can only argue that it was a brilliant game, even though it was the first of the series to include more emphasis on action, I for one welcomed the introduction of Nemesis as a seemingly unstoppable enemy. I agree that Resident Evil 2 was the best of the series but I can't help but choose the third title as my favourite. Combine the elements of Resident Evil 3, namely Nemesis along with other gameplay enhancements, and the atmosphere and survival orientation of Resident Evil 2, and then we will have survival horror at its best!
