Does it look like I have a PS4? I'll just watch the damn video instead. Also, why the hell is a demo already available? And why so very not Resident Evil at all?
I hope that they don't pull this time-lapse storyline. I'm getting sick of RE games not taking place in a single location over a period of time unless the change involves a nearby location like sewers or another section of city. If they don't do this, I hope the opening hour will at least be a confined introduction sequence.
Gameplay seems good for Horror, but reaaaaaaaaaally slow for Resident Evil. The menus seem RE-esque, but the sound is lacking. I'd like to be able to listen to something that isn't white noise/static.
As for the story, it had better have something in common with previous games. I don't want it becoming some Direct-to-Video horror movie sequel or a needless reboot.

I am seeing a lot of chatter that the demo is more of a prequel to the game itself and that it is not the same protagonist that is in the actual game. I have not seen this officially confirmed but it seems realistically plausible.
If you watch the trailer there are several scenes that are not in the demo, some of these scenes have familiar looking characters (not saying they are familiar characters, only that they resemble them).
Excited to see what official news comes out over the next few months!

The noise is my PS4 not knowing how to handle a $200 mic. The sounds are perfect in game, there was also music ques when tension picked up that the video did not capture for whatever reason. Every single creak in the floorboards puts you on edge, you really have to play it once it comes to PC and XBOX in order to get the proper experience. Watching someone else doesn't come anywhere close to how tense this experience is.

I tried the demo for the first time and I can't explain what I'm feeling right now. Let's bring back the horror and suspense. Love the trailer too.

I finally got around to watching that playthrough of yours. I was too busy yesterday recording and uploading my own It's really interesting to see other people interested in this playing it and giving their thoughts.
Just to add to what you said at the end, RE7 will be canonically taking place after RE6, though I'm sure you already know this by now.

Indeed. I was exhausted when i recorded that so i completely overlooked the time stamp on the tape. I'm stupid excited for this game! I heard Capcom has said the final game will have a lot more in common with RE, enemies, items and all that jazz. I hope this is true!

According to a few tweets, the dummy finger does have a purpose and it will be possible to get a good ending out of the demo.
I love that it's taking people days to figure this all out lol. This is glorious! Seriously even people who don't like this direction. You have to admit! Capcom played their cards perfectly here! Look at this from a business perspective (something i myself never did until i got into journalism) they took the ball Konami dropped and ran with it, now Allison Road has been cancelled and fans of that game are playing this RE7 demo RIGHT NOW!
This is brilliant! Also, consider Alone In The Dark and how much influence that game had on RE1. Now look at RE7 and you can see the same thing happening. They are poised to perfect the first person horror genre!!! It's BRILLIANT! I heard Capcom said this takes a lot of inspiration from the first RE. I can definitely see that. Pull back a moment and look at the bigger picture here folks.
If you gave this game fixed cam and tank controls... what are we playing?

I thought it was okay. It had a nice atmosphere to it. I'll reserve actual opinions, though, 'till I've played the actual game.
I thought I heard that Beginning Hour had little to no relevance on the actual main game, apart from giving players a tease of the atmosphere to expect.
I also heard that some images in the trailer are from the actual game and not just Beginning Hour.

They most certainly are. In the trailer you can see a photo on the living room table that is not present in the demo. There's also some footage that just clearly isn't in the demo but according to that part we are gonna visit the house in the final game too.

It takes place after the demo, i'm fairly certain we will see the victims in the demo on our playthrough. The house in this demo is most likely a small stopover. It takes place on the estate. VERY RE1ish.

That's something I've been hearing quite a bit over the last few days. They keep referring to "going home" and the first installment, in particular. I'm excited to see what they turn up.
There was one thing that occurred, even as I first played the demo. After learning about the demo's nature, I still think it's an intriguing, and plausible, concept. They keep talking about this one's intimate nature, in addition to the "horror going home" thing, right? I keep thinking that the story's gonna explore Oswald Spencer a bit, even if he is dead.

I just learned that you can prevent the Family Man from getting you by moving with your back towards the wall. Still, without knowing what the finger does, all you can really do is either get caught or try the door, which still gives you the getting punched ending.

I'm waiting for all endings to be uncovered, at that point i'll do a video on each one of them. This finger thing though... i'm truly shocked the most tenacious gamers out there haven't cracked that code yet!

It's crazy how P.T. was cracked way faster than this. They sure outdid themselves on this one.

It seems like people are certain the demo can't truly be completed and it will need a patch.

It's sounds strange yeah, but if they wanted to wait for the xbox and steam crowd to get their hands on it before it was spoiled on line it does make sense. Also it would be awesome if they did this, it would definitely be a good boost in interest.

Someone actually managed to glitch their way through the back door without getting family punched.
Turns out you just can't leave that way.
There is a room beyond the boarded up door upstairs. The door just didn't spawn beyond the boards for this person so we could get a clear shot.
It appears the room is the same we can see for a very brief glimpse during the trailer. Another ending?
Someone drew a map of the house. As you can see, there's still plenty of space left unexplored. Fans have theorized it's the Ghost Girl and Family Man's secret passage around the house.
