So I got ORC...

Subject: So I got ORC... Mon Jul 20, 2015 11:45 pm

A family member got it for me as per a recommendation from the clerk, as they knew I liked "shooters" and "zombies". This game truly is bad, I take back any form of defense I might have uttered toward it in the past.

Also got TC's HAWX, which is great, so it wasn't a total loss...

For a moment when I saw the thread name and who had made it I was wondering why the shit would you buy that and not get Revelations. Now that I read it it makes more sense. But srs, get RER. Or get people to buy it to you.

Anyway, I still enjoyed ORC. It's not a very good game but I've played worse, and it's enjoyable at least.

Sorry, I have to think that you played that on purpose instead of the Revelations games Razz

. If there is an RE game that someone that lost faith on new RE games should not play, is this one.

I beat the USS campaign (yes, I killed Leon!) and the first Echo Six mission, don't plan on wasting money on the rest.

Not at all. Liking a game and a game being "good" are two different things, IMO. For example, I like TWD: Survival Instinct, but I've still stated before that I feel it to be an underdeveloped cash grab.

As far away from what RE is truly about, but I actually had a fun time playing ORC. I mean I played it with friends and I thought the online was super fun (and I never play online, usually a solo player) dont know how active the online is now though.....

This. Its not that bad. But i want a solid story mode in RE games. Which is why i didn't continue playing RER 2. Besides the lack of my fav characters.Not that i am saying RER2 didn't have a solid story mode. It jus didn't keep me busy enough.

Did anyone have any particular spots that were challenging in ORC. Like Birkin and his lead pipe, for instance.

The only real problem I had was that the game wasn't exactly clear about what to do during the Birkin battle. I had to look it up because I kept using up all available ammo with no result. A small blurb in the corner of the screen would have done wonders...

I actually did, the second time on Pro.

I did have a bit of trouble in a couple of parts, like the flaming elevator and when multiple T-103s came to say hi.

@GL, Teh Spike can also recall spots where it's just like, "where do I go?". Then I get shot at by spec ops

I replayed RE 4 on Pro since it was my first RE game. I jus wanted to know how hard RE 4 could be. To my dismay, its the least appreciated game in the franchise. It was fun while it lasted. I wanted to try RE 5 on professional since i read it was hardest.Think I will do it when i find the time. But first, I must collect as many BSAA emblems as i can. Jeez, I suck at RE. lol!

LOL Nice catch..

I actually found the game difficult in several areas.. But then again I don't play many games focused on gunfire quite as much. While recent RE games have plenty of it, you don't have to avoid it quite like you do in ORC.. but then again I don't play RE games for military styled combat.

I honestly don't mind the game in short bursts. Little things like meeting Nikolai in city hall was cool, Wolfpack going to find Ada's body in the lab after she 'dies' and finding her missing, and Echo 6 turning up to save Jill after she falls unconscious at the clock tower are three such moments that would have worked really well in the canon.

It's a cracking concept and a shame they made next to no effort with it really.
