Favorite Resident Evil Game?

Title says it all.

I am sure there are similar threads to these archived back somewhere, but what the hay, it will be fun getting updated opinions after all the newer games.

Mine has always, and likely will always, be Resident Evil 2. The entire original three are very close though, including REmake. I have a deep love for all of the spin off games also. RE2 is my favorite game though.

RE2, with RE1 in a close second. RE2 had a sense of humour with all the Hollywood references like Brian Irons quoting Norman Bates. I also really liked the ways the two scenarios linked together, for example if you picked up the machine gun in one character's A scenario it wasn't there in the other character's B scenario.

RAID MODE and the fact that RERev1 was easy to get (Played on my friends 3ds).

The puzzles in RERev1 were way better than RE4 and made way more sense (Starting the ship power)

Don't hate the player, hate the fact you didn't get to play the game. Besides RERev1 is like RE2/3, but better
- Your boxed in, there isn't always running around like RE4 (village), just back, forth or through like RE2-3 and sometimes your cramped in box with a Sword-Fish, can't attack (Diving, No weapons) or hard time attacking (Carrying Jill's partner, Fallen Chris vs Wolves)
- You have to find (Story), earn (Achievements) or buy (Raid Mode) weapons & upgrades (More realistic than RE4 story, haven't played 5-6 & Better than overlooking someplace and missing parts & weapons in Story of RE2-3)
- You get a partner AI that helps you, but doesn't do everything for you (If you compare with 5 (I remember talking about Sheva's AI), the Developers were wise in how they did the partner AI due to you have to pick up objects, grenades don't damage you, AI is invincible, but doesn't deal much damage)
- Enemies move like RE2-3 with some others chasing you (coat Guy & Nemesis in RE2/3 vs Rachel & SawHand in ReRev), attacking from range or popping out of no where or standing still until you come close
- And eerie environment which reminds me of running through the forest in RE1

I prefer Raid Mode over Countdown & Tofu (Think about it I get timed, ranked (Speed, No Damage, 100%Accuracy, All Enemies = Trinity Bonus & 3 more Challenges) & rewarded in Raid Mode, I choose Character's w/special abilities/moves and go back with a LVL 10 to 23 to 34 & now 48 (Weapons don't lvl up, you have to throw away & buy the next lvl) Pale Rider to kick some butt in Raid Mode so ReRev had perfect replay value it was like 2 games in one).

The Teleporting Tyrant Level (w/3 SawHands, 2 BowFlesh & Hardshell Charger) I can beat in a minute on Trench Mode (Lv 2) with my Pale Rider...its longer & more powerful than the Python or Rocket Launcher (Doesn't Lvl up).

Wasn't there a Movie called The Raid (By Gareth Evans)...the only time your going to see tofu is in a movie like Eat, Love & Pray (JustJoking w/ all my what & LOL)

There are no facts in play here, just opinions. Rev1 being your favorite doesn't invalidate PWNERX's opinion that RE3 is better, no matter how many reasons you give to claim otherwise. It doesn't make him right and you wrong, it's just his opinion. We've all got them and survival on this site means accepting that other members will ultimately disagree with you for one reason or another.

So Resident Evil 2 will forever be my favorite entries in the series (I am sure I have stated this several times over the years) But out of all the modern titles, re4 - Revelations 2, I have to say Revelations 2 was my favorite from a story mode perspective.
