What hapenned to this place

So like two years ago this place was filled with activity
new posts and new threads every second,now its a rarity to see
more than three people online,its a complete desert even with the upcoming game revelations 2

so what happened here?

People come and go, interests fade and change. That's life. There isn't one clear explanation or a specific happenstance that has lead to less people being around.

Apparently, Barry Burton needs to come and knock some sense into the forums.

games haven't exactly given the resident evil fan much to fan craze about. RE5 was the last awesome RE game I played. RE6 was bad to maybe okay, definitley an acquired taste. I left the forums becasue as Mass said, my interest waned. The series was lost. But maybe the fact that RE HD REmake sold the most digital copies in history, some of that will change and the series will return to its roots. Plus there was a lot of whackjobs and weirdos on the forum too though, so at least them gone is a plus. Brb clopping.

Resident Evil 5 was NOT awesome...just saying. I mean it wasn't Operation Raccoon City bad but it wasn't a great game by any means. The only good thing about 5 was that it finally killed off Wesker (hopefully anyway) for good. Such an overrated character.

People are too busy playing REmastered to post. When dinner is good no one talks at the dinner table either.

I look at one of these posts too carefully, and see something definitely wrong....

I missed this place so much. I wouldn't call this a dead place. the members here, the admins they we're my RE family.

There are still people here, yes? Not just a poor old, crazy me?

I pop in every once in awhile, but the time in between games is always a slow period.
I first joined because of Revelations 2, but that's done now and Umbrella Corps
isn't exactly setting the RE community on fire right now. So there's not alot to talk about.

Just like the Fire Nation, nobody expects Nobudy. I'm upset that the 20th anniversary of the series is nothing more than a mini-game.

I saw a thread like this on The Horror Is Alive as well. I reckon everybody either got too old, or most likely just lost interest in the series. Most of the people visiting the-horror.com just did so for RE 1.5 and Dot50Cal left. I cannot log in there now. I changed my e-mail address and never received any email to click an activation link, so I am stuck in validating mode.

I was thinking about the good old RCF(raccoon city forum) the other day and I remember it as a very active and thriving forum until some dickhead hacked it and basically killed it...shame as it was a good forum. Was anyone on here a member of RCF in its prime? or does anyone keep in touch with any of the old members, would be cool to talk again. But it's good to be back at this place, glad it hasn't suffered the same fate as RCF.

I actually didn't even know of RCF until now that I read that I guess I really haven't delved into any other RE forums from this one.

It's all good man I assumed it was a well known forum and it was big like this forum and very active until some knob hacked it and caused a lot of problems. That's actually why I'm happy I found this forum because it reminds me of those good old days and at least people are still posting here! Hopefully we can bring more life to this forum somehow, any ideas?

I just joined these forums in 2013 I think. I come and go a lot but the core group is always here when I come back; also normally a handful of new people. Love these forums.

You got it buddy, blink it is. Yeah that's what I love about these forums, the core group is always here and they don't treat you like an outsider even if you haven't posted in years even, so this place is great.

No doubt and that's totally expected, but you guys have got nothing to worry about when it comes to me. I'm just here to talk with likeminded individuals about a franchise I love.. So you won't have to do any banning for right reasons with me my friend.

Just because I'm not posting doesn't mean I'm not watching.

The only RE boards I really visit is this one occasionally, and Biohaze. The people on Biohaze are a little bit touchy. There is also a Silent Hill forum I go to, but it's also not that active nowadays. Usually, I only see posts there by myself and a few other semi-regular members. The two sites I use to get my news fix for RE is Biohaze and also one that covers other horror games, and it is called Rely on Horror.

I was on The Horror Is Alive now and again, but when I changed my email address, I didn't receive a validation link, so I cannot reactivate myself. It seems the original owner left or something, so there's some stuff in need of repairing. That's what eventually happens to a lot of websites, however. People get older and things drift apart from being busy in college, being in relationships, and working too many long hours. Plus, things often get a little less interesting for fans as franchises progress in later years, and then eventually some fans just give it up for the ghost.

I'm still a survival horror fan, and one big horror films fan. My massive DVD collection can attest to this. However, my life has been plagued by bouts of stress and anxiety as well, so it tends to make me feel disinterested in some of the things that I used to admire. I'm also a fan of The Walking Dead series, and have also gotten into Z Nation once I gave that a shot.

It's sad how horror games are not what they used to be in general, but it's just like everything else. The essence of time just alters everything. It can be dead for a while, but sooner or later, we get a really cool game coming out either as a download or physical content, and we have RE7 and RE: Vendetta to look forward to in 2017.

I've been hanging out on two forums mainly. Hitman Forum which i joined back in late 2011 and managed to be quite active all the way to 2016, but then i got banned for the first time ever during this year (Few months ago) for arguing too much i guess... (Totally not my fault) I'll be unbanned in 2042 so basically i got permabanned...

Well anyway, the other place i've been visiting a LOT is Project Manhunt Forums which i joined in 2012 shortly after i had been banned from here. As you can probably guess it's a forum revolving around R*'s Manhunt series, but the community is pretty fucked up (Big surprise...) compared to other places so it's kind of difficult to get along with anybody there and that's why i've always kept a lighthearted approach towards everybody there... but that's sort of irrelevant now since the place is pretty much dead by now.

So from now on i'll guess this will be my #1 forum, but from what i can tell, this place sure ain't as active as it used to be when i was still around.
