| Since RER2 seems to have a completely new dodge mechanic, and since it was discussed in the RER2 thread, I decided to make another stupid poll for this thing. I included RER2 there because it seems to be a new type of dodge.
To be honest, I'm surprised if RE4/5 get any votes, the QTE dodge is a terrible system. Miss it and you're done for.

| In all honesty, Re6 had the best dodge mechanic. You could prompt it at will, there were many options to get out of the way, including crawling and rolling, so for what it's worth, I like the control of the character the best in that regard, but too bad the button combinations to dodge was such a convoluted mess and the camera never appreciated you.
I think the camera was the worst enemy in that game. |

| So far Revelations is my favorite. RE3 used to always mess me up because I would spam dodge dogs on accident trying to shoot them. That is partly on me for not changing the controls though.. dodge and aim were the same. |

| Rev 2's dodge looks like it'll be exactly what I asked for, so I pick that. |

I was hoping the fight against Wesker as Chris would be just as good. I was let down. Btw I chose RE6 because those controls work like a dream. I basically agree with everything Vandal said except the camera doesn't really cause me any problems, also I didn't find it too difficult to perform any of the slides or rolls or anything. Idk RE6 just controls really nice, after some amendments to the default control scheme. |

| When evaluating dodge systems I think it is also important to take into account health pools. It is okay to have a dodge that is easy to perform if your character can't take much damage. However if you have a huge health pool and can dodge easily then it hurts the need to dodge and makes your character not feel vulnerable (which is important to survival horror). It also depends on enemy speed and numbers.
In Resident Evil, Revelations is my favorite dodging system. Over all though, Alan Wake has my favorite dodge system because it works so well for that game. |

| They all suck. I prefer dodging by just running past them . |

| If you pick up an item in Resident Evil 5 you can dodge attacks that way too. Which has helped me escaped one hit kill moves before from Reapers. |

True dat. I use this same technique in Revelations to line up dodges and AoE melee attacks... |

| When it comes to dodging, we could all learn something from Jim of the Outbreak series |

I found it funny that in the Army of Two series you can use the same technique |

The only reason I don't like RE6 Dodging is because of the input combinations. There were like three or four buttons you had to press or hold or whatever. You know how you dodge in Gears of War or Dark Souls or Arkham, or any other game ever? Tap A. |

| Definitely 6's. It's about time we don't have to rely on QTEs or forward/back movements only. Funny as they are, I just don't see any person using the forward/back method all the time. |

I use the forward back method navigating in the office daily! Against zombies it's perfect. Faster enemies, not so much. |

| Fun though, but I prefered RE2 for N64 dodging it had true multiple choose. When I was playing RE4 I just learning about Quicktime.
Other than that RERev1 was suppose be easy, but hard for me as my timing sucks so Quicktime is bit convienent (As it times for me).
Haven't played RERev2 only RE2 for N64/PC, RE3 for PS1/PC, RE4 for PC and RERev1 for 3DS (Great RE experience) |

| I have the N64 version of RE2, and the only thing it had for dodging was manually maneuvering around zombies/cerberi/everything else. |

| Sorry I'm not refering common travel, but more like Jumping down the hole or picking up the magnum events. That "dodge" system in RE2 didn't have dodging for less important thing, but for more special moments which made it cool like Mass Effect (And yes I played RE2 when ME2 was out). Unless this poll is refering to non-cutscene Dodge system say ones you can live through then RE4 for me. |

| Revelation 1's dodging is the most fun to me.. but I think Revelations 2 did it right going forward. If we ever want less shoot them up style of play, we need better defensive mechanics and a controllable dodge is that IMO. |

| Now that I've played RER2 I can definitely say that.... it's still a tie between that and RE6. But hey, it's a really good system, especially when you upgrade its features such as distance made and invincibility frames. |
