Indeed, I have never really seen anyone say that the PS3 versions of games are less glitchy than the 360 counterparts. When it comes to multiplats, the PS3 versions are usually a bit more glitchy.

I don't often catch the screen tearing or other minor flaws in games unless it is very prevalent.

And yes, a really crappy phone company stopping all production of Microsoft's Xbox 360 in the US sounds really realistic.
Play a 360 on HDTV (will only run in 720p) and play a PS3 on HDTV in 1080p (which 360 does not support) and you will see a difference. I know some games wont play in 1080p, but you can tell a difference. cell shading is better on ps3, and that is just one of the many things.

Actually both consoles support only under 720p, PS3 only up-scales to 1080p and smooth out a little on the AA but it doesn't render it's output at 1080P Both console's cant handle this. As Thom pointed out at the start of the thread the PS3 exclusives only have better graphics due to the Game company's that make them. It really has nothing to do with the hardware in both console's. Cell shading is also part of a games production and not due to hardware. Consoles only really achieve such graphics through heavily Anti-aliasing because the hardware within can't render heavily graphical scenes, they rely a lot on colour correction and light mapping to hide there graphical flaws and simulate that the graphics your seeing are better than they actually are. Both console's are good for 6-7 year old hardware though I just don't see why console users fight this graphical war, they are both in terms the same with little or no differences. If you want graphics build a gaming PC, that is only true platform that handles sever graphical output and full HD rendering. I also think that graphics are not everything, it's all these console users complaining about graphics that's making game company's focus more on the graphics rather than the crucial points of game design and that is Game play and storyline, that is the top 2 for a successfully game. I dont care if a game has Crysis style graphics because if it doesn't have an immersive storyline to it then I wont even waste my money on it. Same goes for games that focus more on online play. Call me old fashioned but single player is the main part of any game and that's what makes or break games for me.

Too bad that the only way to know if the story is good is to actually play the game, just like with movies you have to see for yourself if the game's good or bad cause sadly you can't trust reviews or forum comments. Sometimes reviews focus on some aspect that you don't care and base their score on that (like saying the online mode is bad, or that the game is too short).

Yeah, you're actually very wrong. The 360 cannot output at true 1080p, but the PS3 can. If you are going to make statements like that, you better be able to back them up.

The majority of people I know own a 360. I, myself, have both a 360 and a PS3 and I prefer my PS3 because I like it more and am more 'at home' playing on it compared to my 360. I have more games for it and am able to work with the options and such in the games better, plus I like the remotes for the PS3 more than the 360 too.
I don't play many games on my laptop or a PC in general anymore, depending on what it is anyway. I'd hate to keep installing and installing and then have to rummage through add/remove programs only to later end up bringing it back when I had to remove it to help with RAM and such in the first place.
I honestly say a PS3 is the better option. I won't go into the 'graphics' and all that as that's done been brought up and explained, etc... But yeah good choice dude.

Sadly, that's what console gaming is going towards anyway.

I made a mistakes, both consoles do run a at 720p. Now the PS3 will only output True HD 1080p picture quality when viewing a blu-ray movie, not a game. Games are upscaled, a lot of people get confused on that front because on the game cases it says it supports 1080p that doesn't mean the game is rendering at 1080, that just means the game is supported for your tv's resolution, this is due to it being common for most households to own a 1080p HD tv now a days. Now my problem with that video is the guy never once mentions any technical aspects in relation to the hardware. He shows no in-depth research to what he is using as "evidence". He is compressing an already lossy type file format, if you want to do a comparasing with a picture then make sure you use a graphic format like .TGA Since it shows rasterized images with no compressing in RAW format. Here is a link for more in-depth detail on .TGA files. I learnt about most file formats in college, could write a book when trying to explain about them in detail so here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truevision_TGA
I do have back up's, one is my SCQF Credit at level 6 certificate in computing hardware and system's engineering, so I hold a great understanding on computer hardware and in depth knowledge on how things work and I have this link as well that will explain every comparassions between the 360 and PS3 hardware-wise and put the whole console tech war to rest and prove that neither the xbox or PS3 can support 1080p Native resolution.
I don't realise why people fight over this subject all the time anyway, games are games and like I said graphics are not everything. Whether they are being upscalled or Native it doesn't matter, as long as the game looks decent, plays well and takes you on a journey through a breathtaking storyline.

You have already stated that the PS3 can output true 1080p (with movies) so obviously the same holds true for games. I can't sit here and say that the games that say 1080p are actually run in 1080p on the PS3, but if they don't, it isn't because the PS3 cannot do it. Movies however, yes, BluRay films do play in 1080p. I'd wager the PS3 games that say they run in 1080p do as well, since they are on a BluRay disc. I'll look into your link though. I don't have the credentials to speak matter of factly. But the evidence I have seen over the year compels me to believe fully that the PS3 can output games in 1080p (if they support it, most don't), and that they do, in fact, play BluRay films in 1080p.

I can possitively say that SOME games on the ps3 run in true hd using the advantages of a blu ray. I have final fantasy xiii for both consoles and you can really see the difference in that game, besides it's only one disc for ps3 and 3 dvds for 360, so it's obvious that the xbox has a more limited capacity. Other games just look pretty much the same on both consoles.

I dont really know if blu-ray is outputting 1080p, that is something I'v never looked into, I'm just assuming they did because of how sharp the picture is. Yes I don't know why they can play movies in 1080p and not games, I have never looked into movies and how the hardware handles the processing of them. All I know is that consoles struggle to output 1980x1080 resolution, they upscale and add more AA in order for it to looks as smooth and clear as possibly when it has been upped. The link I sent also shows the resolution of most games and what other process (AA for example) went along with it. Games that say 1080p such as metal gear 4 and killzone 2 etc. I wouldn't expect a console to run they graphics on full HD though, they are already processing a shit load and they looks great. If they where to process all the game had to offer then I think the console would heat up far to much mess up the internals.
What I'm trying to get across is even though games are upscaled it doesn't matter because they go the extra length to make them look the best as they possible can. Hell I still can't play MGS4 without a dropped jaw. Infact that goes for most the exclusives the PS3.
@Paul - A blu-ray is a dual layered disk, making it have a higher capacity of holding data. That doesn't have anything to do with the console, just due to the different optical laser drive. You see a difference when in comparison with the xbox because the the PS3 handles the render process a lot better and both consoles ports utilize different scalling methods etc that suits the specific hardware in both console. Like the PS3's GPU might be able to handle more bloom in a game so they will add more and get it normal with the xbox and maybe the xbox can handle more rendering faster in a high action fight scene so they can up the AA (these are just examples on not based on truth) etc.

I'm pretty sure HDDVDs are dual layered too aren't they? I wonder what disc format Microsoft will use in the next generation. They need to find something better than what they have now, that's for sure.

Yes they are. but dual layered dvds are 8.5gb, blurays have over 20gb in one layer
