Ouch...can video games really hurt ...physically?

Hi all,

Apparently, i have been hurt playing arcade games with blisters on my thumbs.... . I know its funny but i really am hurt. The games were tekken ps1 and marvel bs capcom 3. I am trying to hit 90 hit combo mark without assisst. I haven't yet combined my combo with x-factor but am still trying without any help from the PRO's on internet.

So share any of physically bruising experience playing a video game?

Hey i guess its normal! The games usually hurts my thumb are Tekken, Bloody Roar, Marvel Vs Capcom, The Rival School, Devil May Cry and DDR. Cause i wanna got a highest combo.

My friends and I used to get blisters on our thumbs all the time playing the N64 Mario Party games years ago.

I use to get blisters on my fingers from playing fighting games and my eyes start to strain but nothing really serious.

Same here. I got experience on that.

Old fighing games where you had to use the dpad. My thumb hurts from just thinking about it.

You people should see ScrewAttack After Dark They take Mario Party to a whole new level, friendships are broken and hands get bloody. Controllers start melting in people's hands.

Besides physical wounds, How emotionally attached are ya?I mean i have almost cried when i can't cook up a good combo or executing a combo as planned. I lose all patience that its jus a game. I get aggrevated and have smashed a couple of controllers(game godhand hard mode).Do they emotionally offend you?

I am die-hard anime fan and would totally prioritize owning games in such genre like Devil may cry and capcom's arcade games. But there is this godly difficulties that jus make me give up and cry. Besides, i hardly have time to play that long to own such games.I remember almost crying when vergil killed with his DT move on DMC 3 Dante must die mode. But eventually beat him with royal guard. Can't guarantee if i will be able to do that consistently or even once in next 20 tries. Very disturbing gaming days for me.

I haven't ever cried from being frustrated not being able to proceed, in fact I don't believe I have ever cried because of a video game.

However I have gotten very emotionally invested in a few of them, namely FF8 and the first Mass Effect.

I've cried so many times in a video game.

DMC ending. ;_;
Okami ending ;_;
FFX Ending, even though I didn't finish it. Went on YouTube to see

In REmake, I cried twice. From pure fear.

I got frustrated when i can't beat the game. Like Dante's Inferno and Valkyrie Profile. By the way, yeah right FFX Ending is sad. That game made me cry.

I almost cried when the murderer was revealed in Heavy Rain and became amotianlly frustrated when I though Shaun died. That's pretty much the only game where that's happened to me. I do get emotianally attached to certain games though, when they're well written.

I rarely get frustrated in any games EXCEPT fighters. Why do I love them so much?! Friggin' Seth is a horrible end boss... Never broken any controllers but I do shout at the screen in frustration.

If a non fighter is hard I just soldier through. I'm too perfectionist to give up.

I broke one of my controllers in PS1. Cause of Silent Hill 1 Freaks that game is so horrible i throw the controller away from me. It got broken

I was kicking my older brother's ass in Super Smash Brothers Melee, and he punched me afterwards. But I can't remember hurting myself while gaming physically.

Ouch, now that would hurt.

If I recall, I think me and my brother had a mini punch to the shoulders
fight when we were playing Fifa 07. ._.

That sort of bad thing I can not erase

Oooh shit, I hate it when that happens.

My brother almost got killed me when we play NBA Live and he got lost.

Yeah thats must be the reason. He was using Chicago Bulls and I, Los Angeles Lakers. 110-120 The scores. Hahaha

Many a good controller has been lost due to botched calls on Madden and NCAA

I've rubbed my right palm raw while playing the one stage of Sonic Riders. I couldn't get air fast enough by turning the analog stick with my thumb so I would use my palm. But I played the stage so much to improve on it that I literally had skin peeling away. Kinda scary when you think about it.

But then again, isn't that more like the remote physically hurting you then the game itself? Hahaha

I remember scraping up my palm playing something on N64 once. I think it was Mario Party...mama mia.

No, Satan designed the Atari Jaguar controller.

I think they give some people seizures, so that's physically hurting someone.
