US Senators Should Be Appointed By State Governments!

We should repeal the 17th Amendment to the United States Constitution. US Senators should be elected by their state governments, like they're supposed to be. This would allow state governments to recall corrupt senators who no longer represent their state's government. Anyone who knows about the Constitution knows that the US Senate is supposed to represent the state governments and the US House of Representatives is supposed to represent the masses. What are your thoughts on this subject?

I don't know too much about politics but I'm gonna have to say Yes.

Undecided but leaning towards no. I would hate to see who would be elected by our state government. Probably Mitch Daniels...*Shudder*

Do you really believe the members of your constituent would elect a representative that wouldn't be bought out by interest groups and/or corporations?

I'm afraid too many people only see the elect through their partisan glasses. Like in my own town, everyone would just voe for whoever the republican is.

I voted "no". I really don't feel like debating it though.

Partisanship isn't necessarily a bad thing. I admit that if I were British, I would most likely vote UKIP in every election without paying too much heed to competing parties most of the time.

How is it ridiculous to vote for candidates from a party whose views you agree with?

If you listen to them and agree fine, but to not listen and just vote for a party...ridiculous.

Of course I would listen to what the others have to say, but I would most likely vote for UKIP anyway.
