Hello to all, glad to be part of the forum. I'm new to forums but not Resident Evil, owning much of the series and having loved all of it. Hands down, my favorites have to be the original three, even though I enjoyed the laters as well (even though RE5 was a dissappointment story wise and character wise, it still had replayability and smooth controls/mechanics for example).
Sincerely, biohazardinyourface from Canada

Welcome to this madness.
How did you find RE5's story (or characters) to be disappointing? For me RE5 has had one of the best, if not THE best, story in RE. I also liked the characters but that is for everyone to judge by themselves, wether they liked the characters or not. It had a good array of old characters and and I even liked the new ones.

Well I suppose what dissappointed me the most was the plot device wherein Wesker's powers were predetermined by regular injections. Right off the bat that plot device seems rather out of the blue and thrown in simply because the writers ran out of ideas (whether they actually thought it was a good idea or did in fact run out of ideas is a mystery, either way, it just didn't sit right with me), not to mention Wesker isn't as much like his old self, but thats something I can overlook as he IS older and thus his headspace would be different. I was kind of hoping there would be an appearance of Barry or Rebecca somewhere, maybe even Leon. As for the introduction of Sheva, that's something I could've done without, but they make it work. I guess overall it didn't FEEL like the Resident Evils I'd come to enjoy more. One thing I will say for RE5, at least it's better than Dead Aim and Survivor.

Hmm... I guess Spike and Nite can go further with the talk about Wesker. Anyways, were you content with Barry and Rebecca being DLC? Leon wouldn't have made much sense being in there... Well, at least if Damnation is going to be set around the same time but that's just speculation. I agree with the rest, Sheva came pretty much out of the blue but she was a nice addition and the game didn't have the same feel as the previous titles. It was a really good game though.
Wait, no, I don't agree with all the rest. Dead Aim and Survivor were awesome games. Not better than RE5 but awesome in their own right.

I was excited with the Mercenaries Reunion for their additions, except I was hoping to see HUNK there. Also theres no reason Leon couldn't have been in Reunion, certainly had more of a right to be there than Excella lol. Just to be clear I wasn't saying Resident Evil 5 is a bad game, I find myself constantly arguing with my friend and fellow RE fan that it is in fact, a kick ass game.

I meant Leon being in the actual game, merc version of him would've been a nice addition. I too was expecting HUNK but he didn't show up to the party :/

RE5's story to me was faaaaaaar superior to RE4's lame excuse for a story. I liked RE5's characters much better as well. Also, Leon has had too much time in the spotlight already and now he's even returning yet again in Damnation. And the injections Wesker took did not give him his power. They kept his virus from killing him. His virus gave him his power. The one he took in RE1.

Thanks Nite, that was exactly what I meant with you or Spike going through the Wesker stuff. I'm not in the mood of writing stuff like that in English...

How does that work anyway? Does Finnish use all English letters?

It's still good, but yeah it wasn't the same vibe, neither was 4 to be honest but at least 4 had some more horror atmosphere to it.

Aren't the letters same in most languages besides Asian cultures
The same in Finnish: Eivätkös ne kirjaimet ole samanlaisia suurimmassa osassa kieliä, aasialaisia kulttuureja lukuunottamatta.
I think the only difference in letters is that we use ä and ö letters. Finnish also seems to make sentences longer

Because Finnish makes longer sentences. So in English, my paper could be 10 pages long, but if it were in Finnish, it might be 12. lol

Anyone else think Nightcrawler (the Judas Priest song, not the guy on this site lol) has lyrics that fit Wesker?

Never heard it.
I've always associated Tool's AEnema with RE, particularly Raccoon City though.

Yep. Very, apocolyptic, worlds gonna endish.
Also, it came out in 96(same year as RE1), so just a few years before that Y2K, millenium stuff.
