Richard Waugh voiced Wesker in CVX, RE0 & RE4 as well as voicing him in the Wesker's Report. DC Douglas voiced Wesker in UC, RE5 & DSC.
Which do you prefer and why? Here are a couple of examples of each of them.

I completely agree. But is there anything more than, "It's just cooler"? Like was there anything specific that made his voice better?
Or anything that made DC Douglas' impression inferior?

Probably he went to many tries and failures to achieve the perfect voice.

And even then, didn't achieve anywhere near perfect.

Or rather, he met the standards that the crew want him to have.

Apparently. I don't even know what they were trying to do. All of a sudden he's doing all kinds of monologues and such, it was pretty ridiculous. Everything he said, sounded oddly emphasized, in a really fake way. Over-the-top to say the least.

I think his voice matches his cold and ruthless personality.

I think they've turned his personality into a bit of a characture....in how they just took his behavior, his sort of selfish ways, and really just multiplied it by a thousand....made it quite...less believable and less real I think.

Original or REmake?
I didn't include either because, well one is pretty horrid.
The other, Peter Jessop from REmake, was great, but only had a single game to his name, and it was a temporary role, much like Douglas should have been in UC.

I think they maybe just exagerated his voice a bit from RE1. In RE1, it was american sounding, but the guy did emphasize words differently. Almost like Waugh's Wesker(from RE0, RE4 & CVX) did the same thing, one major difference being that Waugh has a deeper and cooler voice.

It all just comes down to what sounds better to our own ears.

Waugh would be perfect, but something about his delivery is...off. It's almost like he has a hint of that old RE dialogue cheesiness to him. If I were making a movie with Wesker, I'd personally see to it that he auditioned.

In my opinion D.C. Douglas's Wesker sounds too damn "nasaly' which takes away from the "badass villain"... Richard Waugh's had a much darker, more sinister...yet cocky undertone, if that makes sense.

Think about it - the only way for a hero to defeat a super smart villain(which is usually the case) is if the villain is or becomes insane. All of RE villains, who were crazy from the beginning, like Alfred for example, died in their first game. Wesker wasn't crazy at first - he has calm, collected and ambitious - Richard Waugh's voice completed perfectly the character. However in the end (RE5) we see that Wesker has sinked into madness, into the false illusion that he can become a god.DC Douglas showed perfectly how insane he has become.I know some find ridiculous his "CHHHIIIRRRRRSS!" quotes, but if you think about it - wouldn't you scream in rage if your worst enemy just doesn't die,no matter what you do? The voice actor isn't bad,Wesker's just changed - he was too overconfident and too arrogant to even consider the fact that he might fail. That led him too his doom. So I say both(but I liked D.C. Douglas a bit better...when he wasn't screaming).
