| Hi everyone,
Been a fan of the series ever since my neighbor scared the piss out of me with the original RE (I was five or so). Didn't play much RE after that but after RE 4 came out and addicted me I was determined to go back and re-experience the whole series and lately snagged a copy of RE 2 for the PC. Gotta say its been a few days and it still is making a fool of me that is when my roommate doesn't pressure me to play coop RE 5 with him.
However glad to see a site where many others care about the series and hope to have some good discussions with you all.

| Welcome to this madness.
Say, did you have any problems with the saving/loading system with the PC version RE2? |

| My bad on the double post maybe I clicked send instead of preview? Also as far as RE2 PC goes my save files have mysteriously gone missing. Guess that's what happens when you try to run such an old game on vista. |

No you never double posted lol I was just saying us recent members started it so I was just giving you the heads up lol Also run it on windows 98/ME compatable mode if you have it then the game should run thing If you cant save check were the save folder is directed to and fix it, if you start up RE2 on the .exe file and it comes up the options to start resident evil,unintall/install resident evil etc ect then just click on the one that mentions the save folder then you should be able to config it from there or even find were in your files the folder is located |

I only got an error message when clicking the option. Doing this helped me get my saves to work: - Quote :
- Go to the folder where your save games directory is:
For example: C:\Program Files\Capcom\Resident Evil2 Inside that folder you should be able to see a number of Resident2 Files of about 2KB each. These are your saved game files
Cut and paste that folder with these files directly under your hard disk, so that the new path reads something like: C:\Resident Evil2
Now go to the Start Menu < Run and type in: regedit This should open the Windows Registry Editor
**WARNING: Improperly editing the registry can be fatal to your system. Changing just one value incorrectly can cause program processes to malfuntion and render your computer useless. Make sure you save a back-up before attempting to change the registry. And please follow instructions very carefully. **
Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE < SOFTWARE < CAPCOM < RESIDENT EVIL2
On the right side there should be a name that says "Save Path" (usually the second to the last one on the list) right-click it and select "Modify" Change the value data to the new location of the folder containing your saved game files (C:\Resident Evil2) and click okay. After that, as the game wouldn't let me load on the second cd, I fixed the rest of it: - Mass Distraction wrote:
- Just fixed the problem. For future reference, you have to go to the files on the CD, open a folder called REGIST and make a shortcut for a program file called LEONP or CLAIREP depending on the disc. After that go to the properties of the shortcut and make it run on 98/ME. Now I can finally play Claire B! Woohoo!
Still, for some reason, all save files are named Leon0_00_Waiting Room. |
