Except that's not real 3d rendering, the amount of times i've seen people go oh this is indeed a 3d render and all it was is a render from garry's mod =_=
There are a million reasons why I hate people doing this but the main thing is your not learning anything your using someone else's work to do something completely different and most times its different to anything in game. Anyway ramble over... its a nice image but to me it looks a bit toned out, and what kind of thing has being applied to Claire? it looks like she's from some generic CGI movie that's the only critical points I can think of its fine otherwise. =)
@Methsia I wish I had your skillz when it came to drawing looks very life like and therefore is awesome!
Should have this room done in the next few hours I hope...

So what would you consider it to be?

If its done in gmod its nothing more than a real time generated image in a 3d modeling package you can't spawn ragdolls, put them in a pose and then just press a button and its done, you have to adjust the lights, add the textures and all the necessary mappings, pose the character on a skeleton, set the rendering settings and from there you render and adjust.
The other thing to take into consideration too is if people do use gmod to do wacky images you have to do a ton load more work in photoshop for it even to look remotely good, with 3d app rendering you more or less don't have to do that. As for this image? to me it looks like gmod but at the same time it could also be XNlara since I know a lot of people use that now for doing 'rendering' maybe ozzman can shed some light on it.

i use XNA Lara- real time posing program to pose the model , the export my posed model to blender, i'm still new to it but i'm trying to learn, this pic is XNA Lara and Gimp only
if i could post links , i would show the program , it used actual ingame models but original works will also work,

Yeah XNALara the other 'gmod' as i'm calling it a suggestion would be doing it all in blender render wise you get some nice effects you just can't do with those kind of programs.
Would have more done but getting pissed off by real life stuff sucks...

^ i only use XNALara to pose now, but i wish i was better with blender, ^^ no pc means no way to mess around in blender, i usually only render the character and not add a background , my old pc took 5 hours to make the final render , i couldn't mess with samples because of this
this would have looked better with different lighting settings , i still can't make water or blood in blender, its usually either a separate model or horrible gimp brush

Not RE related, but still, two drawings that I'm extremely proud of. Drew these in my Art class this year. I'll leave it up to you to guess who they are
