| How did the second head of Birkin form? His existing head, as I see with my action figure and the 3D models of Birkin's head was already changing, his right eye had changed to a yellowish red one, so why did a new head grow? |

| I'm not sure, the God Virus works in mysterious ways. I think it was cool that what starts as a small growth begins overtaking him as he fades away more and more into new flesh after every transformation. |

| It may have been the virus taking over William and somehow creating its own "persona", subjugating what little was left of the original host. |

Good analogy. I was thinking about when William ate the G-Virus vials in the cut-scene after killing some of the USS soldiers. Could a second infusion of the G-Virus have caused a second embryo like organism to form inside Birkin, thereby explaining the second head? |

I actually had to rewatch that scene, all I could remember was him stepping over the vials which is a really memorable moment. I always thought he just crushed the ones he took in his hand but now that you mention it, it does make sense. |

| But then something strange happens when Birkin's second form is in the stage when it has lost nearly all of its health. The head seems to be in the process of merging with the new head. This process stops half way when the final shot has been fired and it collapses.
Why would one head grow and then the second one attempt to merge with it? |
