Resident Evil 2 Reborn HD

Don't get too excited yet. This isn't anything official, just a fan project, but it looks really nice. Like, REALLY nice.

It's still a work in progress but I'm afraid Capcom might pull a cease and desist on this one. Companies tend to do that when major projects with their IPs come to light. If everything goes well, though, the release date is this December. Read more on their website: http://www.invadergames.eu/site/en/

That status screen needs fixing, and the area's are, no doubt, unfinished.

Also, I have RE Merc's Reunion and LiN, so yeah, I already have a solo S Rank on the Experimental Facility stage. It's still too easy!

Well, it IS a work in progress so I wasn't really expecting anything to be perfect at this point.

Speaking of Mercenaries, they are planning on adding a Mercenaries mode for this one.

He came over to the 123 forums to ask us what we think and when we all mentioned about C+D and how he doesn't own the IP rights he told us to fuck off and we know nothing...so yeah quite the professional....not

It really doesn't deserve any attention at all especially with the makers 'attitude'.

It looks nice, but like others have mentioned, Capcom might pull the plug on it. Is this company trying to sell this remake, or is it non-profit? If this company tries to sell this, Capcom will definitely pull the plug and probably take legal action.

And like DXP mentioned, that guy has a terrible attitude. Not someone I'd give money to.

This clearly is FAN MADE. Just like some fighting game sequels made with Mugen...

Ah. Well I like that. Seriously, Leon having that knife holster on his RPD uniform in 1998 is a paradox. So annoying, and Capcom continues to do it because they dont care about continuity. At least after Leon gets shot by Annette in DSC, he doesn't wear the knife anymore, but instead the bloody bandages to cover his bullet wound.

Thing about MUGEN is you have to make all of that from scratch, sprite sheets etc. All this team has done is gone:

-Open DSC model data in BRRES viewer
-Extracted the model and its animations
-Extracted the map files and extracted into a suitable format
-Imported all that into Unity or whatever the hell engine they are using
-Done no modeling at all
-Done no animations
-Done bog standard behind the shoulder cam

All amounts to nothing. Its just another fan game that will get no where at all...

I do think it's non-profit but that still hasn't stopped companies from pulling the plug on multiple non-profit fan projects.

I've seen a lot of indie devs having a shitty additude lately. Phil Fish comes to mind.

Capcom didn't pull the plug on the Resident Evil 1.5 fan project, or on the revived Outbreak servers though. This could be different though, in the event that Capcom might actually make a Resident Evil 2 remake one day.

About the attitude problem, they need to work on it. I would never support, let alone buy a game from a company with a crappy attitude.

If Capcom pulls the plug on the project, I'll just make a guess that they will REmake 2 one day, and they don't want people having it for free.

That's what I would assume too.

If the guy making this ever shows up here and starts acting like an asswipe, I call dibs on the banhammer.

As a counter argument I'd like to point out that Hasbro has put down a lot of legit and free MLP fan games even if they have no plans of making such games themselves. Just an example.

MLP GAMES MUST BE DESTROYED. As for Capcom...they have to smarten up.

Capitalism is capitalism, and if the end result (his project) pleases people and the game is fun, who are you to boycott it just because he didn't play nice at your little boy's club. It smells of envy in this thread. I never heard much people say 'I fucking hate my Iphone because steve jobs was an asshole'. So calm your tits.

My beef stems from the fact he was asking for donations to fund this project and his team(he deleted the first post to make sure you couldn't ever see that screw up), which he can't because as I pointed out and as everyone will point out, you don't own the game data you don't own the IP only Capcom does. In fact go to their website and direct your attention to the donate button sticking out there, its not too fund the one game they still haven't released its to fund this remake...

But yeah Capcom are going to love a small team earning cash from this to basically re-sell their game and not earn a penny from it themselves. Still think this is envy or am I using common sense? Or was there a new act passed that allows anyone to just steal something and profit off it when you don't even own the rights to begin with?

Yeah, it is CLEARLY just fan-made, and nothing else. It will, somehow, fail.

So I was feeling creative today and made my ideal map for the 1st floor of the police station in my ideal remake of RE2.. I may post my ideal 2F, 3F, Basement, Sewers, Factory, Lab, etc eventually as well.. Anyway, I made the first floor larger. Hahaha.. it was already a large police station to begin with, but it's built within an abandoned museum so at least there's a good excuse! In the picture, I've labelled new areas as green.. I haven't actually decided what I'd want most of the rooms to be aside from the bathrooms.. I also had to move the window Nemesis jumps through ever so slightly, because of the new rooms, but it's pretty much in the same place. Can you guys understand my expanded 1F map? Anyone like it? or not? :PAlso, the map is sorta sloppy and I put it together fast so some of the new rooms may not be as large/small as they could/should be, but I think this does a good enough job of describing what I've envisioned.. I'll likely refine it eventually, if anyone cares.. Hmm.. I wonder what other rooms could be added aside from more offices? A shooting gallery would be better suited to the basement so that wouldn't work on the first floor..

I've compared my ideal remake Police Station 1st floor to the original.. You'll notice that new areas are added on both sides of the buildings with the left side sort of mixing the new and old together and the right having the old on the bottom and the new on the top.. and two hallways have been extended to connect them to the new areas.. You guys like the new layout?

Be sure to make room for a bathroom.
