Found where the "Zwei" thing came from.

Article wrote:
With Bethesda in the picture, Tango left Noah behind and started in on a new Mikami-directed triple-A project code-named Zwei β€” the German word for "two." That name wasn't a coincidence. Zwei was to be a vampire hunting action game starring a man and a woman attached by a chain. It was a cooperative game, with part of the gimmick being if someone played alone, they'd control both characters simultaneously with one following the other.

As time went on, Zwei evolved into a single-player horror game β€” what Mikami would later call "pure survival horror" β€” set partially in a mental hospital.

Mikami gives multiple reasons for the switch, saying he heard feedback that vampires hadn't been popular, and that team members pushed him to make a more traditional horror game.

Interesting considering Mikami himself said when the project was first announced that the working title "Zwei" had nothing to do with the Gernam number two. In itself that was already weird since I don't think there's any other meaning for such a word.
Weird, I only heard him say that the title Zwei had nothing to do with the game itself.

Huh. I guess I may have read some article wrong or there was a translation error in it.

Yeah, I just saw that earlier. This actually looks pretty interesting and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the trailer. In all honesty though, this is basically the first time I'm hearing about the game (Other than hearing about the title being revealed a while ago)

Is it just me or does the game look like Outlast mixed with RE4? Pretty generic, if you ask me.

Too mainstream for ya? Razz

I can't help but thinking the character looks a lot like Leon.

No, not really. I like all kinds of games. It just... looks generic, for a horror game. I like my horror games with a twist.

I don't like the sound of this; especially the point about the main character being a walking armory.

While I am maybe a tad sceptical of this game, I wouldn't take IGN's articles to heart. They have been wrong before and time and time again they've made false accusations towards games that the writer may or may not dislike to begin with.

Sounds like Code Veronica to me, which was fine as a survival horror game (aside from the occasional over the top cutscene), and many people considered it to be one of the hardest old school RE games despite that. They probably toned down the difficulty as well so they can show everything they wanted to, I know I'd be using my strongest weapons if I knew it was about to end in 10 minutes and that there wasn't anything worth saving the ammo for.

I'm confident The Evil Within will make the genre feel like it has life in the old dog yet. I've (sadly) been vastly disinterested in horror gaming for many years now due to all the crazy hype that ends up being a waste and yeah - how many modern day games on consoles are that scary any longer? Jesus. Smile

As will I.
I've already seen a little more of the gameplay but not the current demo's that have been shown.
I want to go in with no prior knowledge of the game or the horror experience being dampened.
Although I love how with modern media we can keep track of games and get constant updates, it is also the death of most games.
Companies want to build hype so much for games that they end up showcasing nearly the whole game before it's released and I feel that's a waste.
Games I anticipate I won't to keep them in the dark up until the time when I can buy them.
That's kind of how I miss game magazine articles, all you got where a few screenshots and some info and that was it.

Anyway off topic here but I know you might shed some light on this Mass.
Have you seen or heard or know when Capcom will be showcasing the next Resident Evil news ?
I know it's not a main title but this whole "Enhanced Veronica" thing has got me pretty damn excited.
The only reason I'm asking is because sites like Kotaku do not always update with EVERY SINGLE thing from E3, they mostly just showcase the juggernauts of
the confrere like .... surprise, surprise COD!!
I also know that it's still early days for E3 but the fact I can't find information on a potential day or time of day that Capcom will announce it is killing me inside, I NEED NEWS !!!!

They totally failed to deliver on that "major game" announcement they promised. All they had was a trailer for Deep Down (a new IP), some Monster Hunter stuff fans already knew about, a re-release of the first three Ace Attorney games and a DLC mode for Dead Rising 3. Oh, and a PC version of DR3 as well.

So... yeah. Nothing major. I am hugely disappointed. Not even remotely excited for TGS either.

What the eff man !
I thought there was still time.
Yeah I seen all that being showing, cant wait for DR3 on the PC, will be sweet Very Happy.
I wonder if they will still release news afterwards or maybe this was all just a hoax, however I'm highly optimistic that it was
legit considering the website and all.
We will just have to wait in see but this is so typical Capcom, from this day on out I've stopped holding my breath for them, they pull this shit too much lol.

Deep Down looks like another heartless cash in. I told my friend that Dead Rising 3's DLC was their biggest announcement for e3. He didn't believe me at first.

I'm pretty sure by now that it was a hoax. However, they DID promise a "major game" for us this E3. They lied.

Just because none of their offerings are significant to you, doesn't mean they aren't so for them. So it isn't necessarily a lie. I'm sure a lot of people were disappointed with E3. I know I was when there was no word on a Red Dead Redemption sequel.

What was the major game then? I mean, there was really no new announcements at all and DLC can hardly be called something "major".
