| I have one. If you like card based battle games then it's a worthy buy. Different game modes and stuff. I'm really bad at explaining things so I hope this does a better job: http://www.bandaicg.com/residentevil/Played it with a friend, although I'd recommend having at least two friends. Time goes by pretty fast in this one. |

| The first, base set is just called Resident Evil [Deck Bulding Game].
Two additional sets, Alliance and Outbreak, have been released to add more game modes, characters, enemies and items to the game. |

| I have the Alliance version. Pretty much what happens is every player chooses a character and gets a handgun, two knives and I believe 7 15 handgun round cards. When it gets to a players turn, they draw 5 cards. If the player draws a weapon card (gun or knife), they're able to "explore the mansion" which is taking a card from what's pretty much a pile of creatures from the RE series. All weapons have a predetermined damage that they do. So say I draw a handgun (10 damage), and two knives (5 damage each for a total of 10) and the rest are ammo cards. I'd explore the mansion (you don't have to every turn, but exploring leads to winning) and I find an ordinary zombie, which has 20 health, I'd be able to kill it since I attacked it with a handgun and two knives which adds up to 20. Now that I killed it, I gain 1 decoration. Whoever has the most decorations after they defeat the final boss is the winner. That's pretty much the basics of it. It takes a while to understand and get used to, but it's pretty fun in a group. |

That really depends on what rules you're pleying with. Custom rules are also an option. You can also battle other players on top of the monsters in Versus mode. |

Just make sure to get the original first and not Outbreak or Alliance. I hear the original is more clear to understand and it has more mainstream characters. Alliance comes with RE1 Chris, RE5 Jill, Claire, Darkside Leon, Darkside Krauser, HUNK, Carlos, Steve, Billy and Josh |

Why's that? Friends sort of split up after high school. |

If you mean are the cards made like the Pokémon cards... no. I was pretty surprised to see that the cards were actually really thin, like regular plastic playing cards. Still quality, nonetheless. |

| Hey, I felt like reviving this thread a little . I bought the Resident Evil Deck Building Game early last year and played it with some of my buddies in residence. We all loved it, and I am looking to get back into it (I just ordered the "Outbreak" playmat *excited!* ). For those of you who own the game, surely you are aware that the instructions are not crystal clear. I myself had to watch a couple of tutorial videos before I got the general idea of it all...Needless to say, I found that switching up some of the card schemes in the game (which cards you include in the game session, etc) can make it more interesting and force players to be more strategic with their moves. For instance, the rule in which when a player comes up across Uruboros in the mansion (sigh) the game abruptly ends...I find that kind of...shitty. The game could be over in 2 turns! So what I really want to know...does anybody have a specific layout that works well for them? Has anyone experimented with different ways of playing that make the game more intense/exciting? Has anybody actually tried playing without the Uruboros card in the mansion deck? If so, did the game last forever? Or did everyone eventually die until there is one character left...hmm...I guess I would call that survival mode . |

| I've only played with the standard rules and I've learned that if there's only two of you playing the game, it will take forever even if Aheri is in the deck.
What comes to the instructions, I had no problems getting into the game with them. Then again, I had read the rules on the website way before even getting the game so that might have affected my understanding. |
