| That is a very good question, I myself have asked this everytime I do a playthrough but have never thought to pursue an answer.
Now if we are to take ONLY the first game into account (not REmake) then it might very well be Kenneth's blood.
If you remember correctly from the early Alpha footage of Resident Evil (or beta, I think it was alpha though) there where two zombies in the dinning room when you first enter.
Now they could have set this up as Kenneth fending them zombies off and then taking to his heels into the corridor where (presuming the location of the zombie when it comes from the further up the hall and down into the kitchen) he would be chased into the dead end and of coarse meet his demise, I mean the zombie was a little fast and STARS members really have a hard time hitting targets even though they are a highly trained tactical unit.
The other two zombies where the white coat zombies which could have made there way up onto the second floor balcony area and this is the zombies that are in place when you play the game.
This is just my theory anyway, one can only speculate with this.
However it could just have been put there for the intentions of creating mystery, as it most certainly did (does) and helps add to the atmosphere and tone of the game. |

I really should have popped in RE1 or REmake before responding to this, but I don't believe the blood puddle was there in Chris' File. |
