RE5 and Afterlife Empty
PostSubject: RE5 and Afterlife   RE5 and Afterlife EmptySun Feb 13, 2011 11:52 pm

After last week movie debate that took place in many topics I have something to say....

am I the only who thought that Afterlife put some elements of RE5 in a very stupid way???

just to name a few:

1 - Las plagas
2 - Executioner
3 - Chris
4 - Wesker
5 - Blonde "Evil" Jill
6 - Bug controlling thingy
7 - some parts of the final battle with wesker are similar to the game (like wesker throwing the glasses to Chris)

I thought it was a pretty lame attempt opf the director to try and merge the movie universe with the games...but it was like if Anderson had just finished playing RE5 and thought: "It was good, let's write a new movie and include all of this"... lame

I actually pointed this out at some point. It felt like an average, run-off-the-mill zombie movie with RE5 elements implemented to gain it the name 'Resident Evil'. Without those things it would've been just a zombie movie. Not even a very good one.

Dude obviously lol. Almost 100% of the Wesker fight was a carbon copy of the RE5 hangar fight. It was like that fight happened exactly with one of the characters changed, and in a different location. Every live action movie put some elements of some game in it in a very stupid way.

yeah, I think that because there was a short time between RE5 and Afterlife it bothered me a lot more than the RE3 stuff in Apocalypse

I actually liked that the Wesker scene was in the movie. It's the one thing that felt truly Resident Evil in all four movies. I especially like how Shawn Roberts said, "You should of brought more." Something about it was just great.

By the way, I highly doubt anyone that works on these movies plays any of the games. I think they just watch the cutscenes.

If even that, they might just consult someone who knows something about the games.

I don't mind that it was in there. But god. I just wish they would take the live action movies, apologize to the world, take out everything RE related, and rename them "Action Zombies Boom!"

Yeah. I would love the movies if it wasn't for their title.

But they're fun B-Movies. Unless you're thinking about the fact that it's supposed to be Resident Evil.

What I meant was that if the movies did not have the name 'Resident Evil' I propably wouldn't watch them. They would be just B zombie flicks and not even very good (at least the latest one). Evil Dead, now THAT'S what I'd call a good B movie.
